Kill Santa Off???

so all this time ppl were looking for proof of god in the bible and through science and the whole time he was in our forum. We find things in the strangest of places :p

I think it depends on if you're religious or not. If you're religious, then the whole Santa thing probbaly isn't the best story to tell your kids, because it doesn't represent the "true" Christmas story. My family, though, was never that religious, so Christmas meant what it means for lots of people: presents. And I'm not ashamed to admit it. More than likely, that's what Christmas will mean when I have a family of my own.

As for when kids should be told, I think an earlier age is best. When kids are somewhat young, their parents/guardians are still their heroes, so the news that Santa is actually their parents isn't that much of a shift. Just my opinion, though.

I never thought Santa was real -- although St. Nicholas was -- because he was always depicted on a snowy background and goes down the chimney wall to enter a house... It never snows in here and my house doesn't have a chimney.

If my kids would ask me about Santa I will try my best to make them understand that there is no Santa that is, if they are below 6. Don't ask me why it's just instinct...

The Santa story in here is basically the same with the US, which is not surprising since a lot of us love many American stuff.

Do you think it's OK for very young children to believe in Santa? Do you want your children(some day) to know the story of Santa, the North Pole, elves, reindeer, and the whole 10 yards? At what age do you think children should be told the "truth" ? Do you remember how you felt as a child when it finally sunk in that there was no Santa?
Is the story of Santa different in your country then it is in the US? Here in the US we seem to have TV Xmas stories (MANY-MANY) that run over & over in December every year; how bout your country? Do you have an interesting Santa story?

What do you mean the "truth" ?? That is the truth .. :( ..

Santa is very real , the elves and everything could not have come from nothing! And it's true , sometimes it's acually the parents playing the role of santa , but that's only becuase Santa is a little .. buisy ....
