Really late reply considering the date of this thread, but I can't resist.
Ah, Kagome versus Kikyo. Who's the best woman for Inuyasha? That is an old argument I've seen across the length and breadth of this vast internet, and one I'll try to address for myself as best as I can.
1: Physical attributes. At first glance, they're both beautiful women in love with the same man, which makes you (or at least me) wonder about the lack of justice in this world. Kagome's got that popular sex appeal around her in the form of a Japanese schoolgirl uniform, stretched against her body in all the right places. That is of course her first clothing style. In later episodes Kagome wears a snug sweater and what appears to be a shorter skirt than her uniform allows, and this outfit identifies her as someone that wants to be *loved* and *loved well*.
Kikyo, despite having more than a passing hint of a seductive body buried underneath all her baggy clothing, is still covered under her baggy clothing. There simply isn't much on her you can look at that suggests *gimme some loving*, and she falls behind Kagome in that respect.
So you have to look at the faces. Kagome's young, and not only with those typical wide eyes. Her cheekbone structure suggests baby fat and growing muscles, which while being very cute, does not do it for me in terms of a mature woman conveying a hunt for fresh meat. So it's hard for me to take seriously any of the innuendo she occasionally says to Inuyasha or anyone else. Kikyo, on the other hand, has more of an angular chin and fully developed cheekbones, and that says to me "hey, she isn't jailbait." So despite covering her body in baggy clothing, Kikyo has the upper hand over Kagome in showing the audience that she's all grown up and ready to prowl.
Their foreheads are the same, their hairstyles differ but are colored the same. Kagome's eyes seem a bit bigger than natural for the size of her face. I think this is supposed to convey childlike innocence and hint at the woman she's growing up to be, which as I mentioned is plenty cute, possibly hinting at a sexy kind of cute. But Kikyo's eyes are drawn a little more narrowly and small, which fits her facial expressions perfectly, and this makes her incredibly ravishing when she frowns. God I wish she'd smile a little more often.

I vote Kagome al the way!
She may be louder and bossier than Kikyo, but Kikyo just makes me mad, with her
"I'm a bitter and angsty soulless freak who won't forgive Inuyasha for something that wasn't his fault and I'm going to take him to hell where he'll be dead, but at least I'll have him to myself"
Kagome isn't so posessive, but is a sweet girl when she wants to be. In the anime, yes she's pretty annoying but in the manga, she's really helpful. She only wishes for Inuyasha's happiness, when it comes to his love for Kikyo, though she'll still be sore about it.
As for the "looks" department, Kikyo may be more mature, but she's skinny and pale, where as Kikyo is healthy and has curves in all the right places (for you boys who can't decide)

Eh i would have to vote for Kagome because kikyo bothers me.. she's always depressed or angry.. though i did enjoy episode 22 because it showed a side of her you don't often see, where she wants to stay in the village where the kids adore her and what not.. but still... she's so possesive of Inuyasha... Inuyasha is his own person he doesn't belong to her.. his heart is his own as well.. and she doesn't really love him.. if she did she wouldn't want to kill him and bring him to hell she'd want him to live a happy life.. or so my feelings are on that subject.. Kagome.. while annoying with her obsession about Inuyasha and Kikyo... has more to her character. She shows depression and sadness, anger, happiness... she also is quite full of energy.. she needs to let go of inuyasha's past relationship which you can't really call a relationship.. I mean.. there was a lot of conflict rather soon into it... Kikyo belongs with Naraku or dead.. preferably dead with Naraku.. and Kagome and Inuyasha both need to grow up... uh.. hmm.. I just made kagome look bad too after I voted for her.. feh oh well..

I made a very funny choise; Kikyo. It really hate the fact in inuyasha that Kikyo is allways appering in stupid situations. It seems that when there is nothing else to do, Kikyo comes and messes things up.
I really can't say. Infact I don't like Kagome at all but I can't tell why. I think that this is just because I haven't watched Inuyasha for long time. Only good thing about the whole anime (that comes to my mind at the the moment) is Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha. Still, Inuyasha is one of my favorite anime.
Maybe I should just shut up.

Kikyo could kick Kagome's *** any day, but I'd pick Kagome. She's alot more friendly and sociable.
