1990 VS 1998 Record of Lodoss War

Which version do you prefer? the original one or the remake?
I personally prefer the original one. The old drawing style is more appealing to me somehow.
I really don't know why they had to make a remake although the original was done already very well.
I know that other Animes like Gatchaman or Guyver really look better than the original ones.

I saw the original in its entirety back when it was released. I was unaware there was a remake. I haven't watched anime in years but I might have to check it out.

I really didn't like that they rewrote so much of the original ending -- the 1990 OAV was a fairly self-contained story.

That being said, the SD bits in the TV show cracked me up: Parn really IS that clueless. If it were any other guy but him, there'd undoubtedly be a fair number of half-elf rugrats running about in the later bits of the series.

Honestly, I have to go with the original, though I really liked the OP to the TV series ("Kiseki no Umi").
