So true FHP. There were more than a few lonely housewives that I taught English to back in the day before I married. From the way they responded I knew they were telling me the truth about their unsexed marriages. It's sad that it's still going on today.

A very substantial role! I'm quite surprised as I figured that a Japanese man who married a foreigner would initiate sex with the wife more than they would with a Japanese wife. I am always amazed to hear this about Japanese men and their spouses. Why is that? I've read in books the reasons why, but I just could never understand it.

No, you're not the only one who thinks it's insane as I DO TOO! I believe it as I've heard it more than once from Japanese men. For some reason, I was told, after the family is established, many a Japanese men would rather have sex with an ugly hostess than their cute or beautiful Japanese wife. For some crazy reason they feel that way when the wife initiates sex and, for the life of me, could never comprehend it. When my J-wife initiates sex I'm all for it and do NOT think of her like that - unless it's "fantasy/role-playing nite!"
Tell any Japanese man that his wife is beautiful (or has beautiful eyes ;-) ) and you will get the same response: "Naaaah. She's ugly." or "You're just being nice." Go figure!

A recent study quoted in this article states that 45.1% of Japanese married women are in sexless marriages!

Well, as far as mine is concerned, he's just not interested. Period. He is always at home when he's not at work, so I know he's not fooling around. I know where he is at all times. He's just has a low libido. To him, once every couple of weeks is normal? Before we were married, it was...definitely not like this.

So many Japanese men treat their wives as substitute mothers to clean their houses and take care of them. Now that explains why so many of them want to keep their wives at home even when there are no kids! And you can't have sex with mommy. You can't blame a sexless marriage on low libido. Not when Japan has the most ubiquotous porn and sex industry in the world. Who do you think supports it?

My poor Japanese friend, who grew up in the United States and moved back to Japan in high school, wants to get a girlfriend and get married like your average American would, but he's having trouble starting a relationship since women there don't trust him because he's a Japanese man!

American women don't just dump their men because they don't get any sex, they dump them when they don't get orgasms. A man should work just a bit harder to please his woman, ne? What does it say when he gets an orgasm and she doesn't? Why should anyone stay with the selfish, inconsiderate jerk? It would only lead to adultery when the woman gets frustrated. There are Japanese wives paying for sex even!

Hit the nail on the head. And it doesn't just happen in Japan, though i guess they're more prone to it. There was a famous Japanese married couple who said at one time, "sex should be kept outside the home".

Well a lot of marriage counselors say that both partners before marriage need to understand each other's libido. The reason for it is because if one person wants more sex than the other, it can cause serious problems later in the marriage. Sometimes you need to find a partner that has the same sexual libido as you. However, if you find a partner that has all the other qualities that you want except the libido, then you need to work it out with your parnter so that both of you don't end up distressed. What pisses me off in American society today is that people just screw around just to find the right sex partner. It seemst that sex is more important than the other qualities that you're looking for. However, I would like to point out that if that's the case then I see why we have so many divorces and irresponsible marriages going on today. It's rather sickening if you ask me.

Take me for example. (Getting a bit personal here just so you know. ) I have a very high libido. I have a lot of sexual stamina however, I can go on for weeks months without the need to "get my rocks off". Why? It's because there are more important things to me than just sex. I think today's generation of people are just too irresponsible to understand that fact. Due to that, the moral values on a relationship have changed. This over time increases the rate of HIV/AIDS and VDs ten fold. People in society need to have a wake up call. Not only that, but I think this new found independence for both sexes getting out of social roles causes some problems too. People just need to act more responsible towards one another even in relationships.

As for the Japanese housewives, like I said before bring them to me. Lord knows I need the sex!
