Hello everyone! Does anyone here have experience with Japanese cellphones, especially in the United States?? I would really appreciate if someone, especially someone in the US could help me with an issue I am having with my Japanese phone.
I recently bought a Fujitsu "Arrow's Kiss" F-03D for NTT Docomo. It is this one: this one.
I bought it on ebay from Tokyo, and it works just fine. I took it to AT&T (my carrier) and got my sim switched out so now I can talk, text, get online, use apps, and do anything else you can do with an American phone. In that regard, it works fine. So the people that say Japanese phones will not work overseas AT ALL are wrong.
The ONLY issues I have with the phone are this: 1.) As of right now, it cannot send or receive photos. There doesn't seem to be a send option and when people send me photos, I will literally just not get them.
2.) My phone drops my calls. Like, alot. Even with a five minute call or less, it will drop the call every ten to twenty seconds. I rarely talk on the phone right now (it's summer vacation for me, so I don't do much), but I'm worried about when I go back to school. I'm a journalist, so I have to constantly call people so this is a big issue.
Can anyone help me with these two issues? Should I take my phone to AT&T and see what they can do, is there something I can do myself, or I am just stuck with these issues forever?
My phone gets good "bars" and wifi. My texts never get lost or fail, so it doesn't seem to be an issue with the reception, although I am not sure. Also, this phone comes with a pull-out antenna. Even if I use it (which is pretty embarrassing), it still drops calls!
Please help me if you can! There's not a lot of info on this phone since I am from the US, so I don't have a lot of resources. Even the people at AT&T looked at my phone like it was an alien or something because they have absolutely no experience with Japanese phones.
