Well, personally, I'd rather listen to "do wop" than Britney or Christina. In my mind, it's not crap. Those groups from the 50's turned out lots of cool, non-offensive music, despite what you think, it's far better stuff than the usually vulgar stuff that passes for music today.

Well, I did say that a lot of it was like Britney and Jessica, not all of it. Anyway I wasn't even referring so much to the lyrics, although the older stuff is all about "boy meets girl" type nonsense anyway, just like today. I was talking more about the music. It just seems to me that a lot of that stuff was on the same level as Britney, et. al.; just made to make money. There doesn't seem to be anything worthwhile in the music for me; it's just not interesting to me. But maybe that's just my taste.

the sad part about music nowadays is that they give people what they want to hear (something shallow, catchy) and an image most people want to be: a lot of girls want to be britney spears, soem guys want all the bling-bling of the rappers, some just fame- it's all fantasy. one group that comes to mind is morning musume. many of their songs are, quite frankly, pointless (like the song 'a girl gets excited about pasta') and with all the glitz and glamour surrounding the Hello! Project many girls want to be like them.

Yeah, there're a lot of pretty girls wandering down on the street, but Britney Spears has her own style... I think for a pop star being special is more important than being pretty. Look at J Lo in the "Get Right" video. HOME | Jennifer Lopez She has a lot of styles!!!!!!
