Hello everyone 🙂 I've been heavily wanting to goto Japan and will most likely be able to in 3 years or so.

As for the food, I hear Japanese food is great, is it much different from chinese food here in Canada?

I have had both. I will admit though I was all about Chinese food til I finally started eating Japanese dishes.

I love Japanese food.

Japanese food and Chinese food cover such a broad range of tastes that it's hard to compare.

Why don't you visit a Japanese restaurant?

I find myself drawn more to Japanese food than to Chinese food. Many Japanese dishes are like a work of art. A feast for the eyes and the belly.

I've fallen for japanese food 😌
I like japanese food best. I think it has some sort of "freshness" compared to chinese food. Personally I think there are more vegetables in JF, than CF, and I like that!! :-) Maybe, that's why the food feels "fresh" ☝ But chinese people fry their vegtabels alot more than japanese people, that's what I have experienced so far...

But maybe I just lag experience, in eating CF :p

being that this thread is old, you probably won't care anymore. however, i think that a general expression of chinese food is that it's oily. i'll eat it from time to time and they do have some great dishes, but i'd choose japanese cooking over chinese cooking any day.

and trust me, not all japenese foods are great, you might want to try some places first before you decide to go balls out in japan.
