I'm a big fan of Kenji Kawai (Ghost in the shell- Soundtrack). I'm looking for Japanese instrumental/electronica music, for use in training and meditation. Anyone have a clue what I'm talking about? ☝

Thanks! That is very nice of you.

I know about DJ Krush (Tnx for the tip anyway).

I'm looking for trance/electronica, build on tradisionel japanese acient instruments.

I don't know if such music exest?

Well, one possible band for you to check out would be Ryukyu Underground... although the group itself isn't Japanese (one American and one Brit), they use traditional folk music from Okinawa as a basis for some really good chill and trance-type tunes.

Obviously, DJ Krush's most recent album has a lot of electronic mixtures with some traditional instrumentation as well...

If I think of any more, I'll post again... good luck!

This could be what I'm looking for! I'll check them both! Thanks!

Try... (if you want electronica or synth pop) UNDER17! They're great (in an annoying ultra kawaii sort of way) ...

.

traditional........KODO

but they have a some-what techno/trance song

kalled "Strobe's Nanafushi" thats all ive come acroos so far but ill keep looking.

I'm happy that I could be of service... if I can find anything more in that vein, I'll let you know. But if you like those fusions on "Jaku", I'm pretty confident you'd like the Ryukyu Underground stuff too... provided you can find it.

Happy listening!

Ii would of course suggest Kitaro and Sakamoto Ryuichi. I'm so shocked nobody mentioned it before.

If you could specify a cd tittle, and maybe a link to some samples, that would be great! :)
Thanks again!
