Japanese, Egyptian, Aztec Connections...?

um hello all Jews are considered Jews racially. except for a small percentage of converts(almost none since we are not allowed to proselytize) and a few from india that were recently discovered but anyone else is almost directly related to abraham, so our religion and race for the most part coincide.
but again for religious debate you i can give you some websites and you can go argue with scholars about it. This is a Japanese forum not jewish. Either that or pm me and i will happily discuss it in private without making anyone else suffer. Not to mention you haven't even stated your religion. It's easy to criticize something you don't understand.
again gomen to everyone about this. please get back on subject i wont respond to her anymore.:sorry:

Egyptian, Judaic, Japanese, Aztecan, all of the above

Actually, to all, count my vote on the absolutely, positively self-convinced side that Egyptian-Judaic elements ARE saturated within both the Japanese and Aztecan sides. But I am a cabdriver, the only formula for people to believe is for me to be dead 20 years, then maybe, but probably not then either! I am just glomming on what others have publicized over the last 500 years, along with my gathering of tourist observations I have made on personal visits to Peru and Mexico.

Yes, I believe there are major Judaic-Egyptian influences in the Japanese cultures and Aztecan cultures, and I have been told of many Japanese books haven been written on this subject. I

But it is not important for any of us to "believe" or "not believe", let me just table the theories with the best evidence I can provide, and let the next generation develop better theories.

i know there are books written about it and websites about it like this one http://www5.ocn.ne.jp/~magi9/isracame.htm
But again i don't think it has to do with lineage so much as with physics and maybe some thinking patterns that are similar. it's more of a coincidence. I think it has already been genetically disproven. Of course ideas could have traveled through trade or war but i don't see any similarities between Jews and Japanese. It could have something to do with the children of Ketura and why some acupuncture techniques are the same as some spiritual Jewish practices but i doubt there is a deeper connection than that. Besides didn't the Japanese come to Hokkaido from the north? Also any connection in language is probably from our Arab cousins rather than us. Does anyone speak Arabic here? Are there any word similarities from Arabic to Japanese?

Yes, I believe there are...

pugtm...

This is the point where you are asking a serious, extremely valid, question, probably hoping for a drilled down, scientific type of answer from a cabdriver!

Thank you for your...??? confidence?

But here is my valid answer. Give me 10 cities in Japan, and I will give you the Egyptian plausible equivalent.

It is like the name Hideki Matsui.... plausibly the Hah (Crown of Eternity) Tchaus-Texas-Taisha-Teacher (Divine Chief), Maat (speaks the truth) sui ( protectors -sia), so plausibly means... Divine Chief of Eternity, protector of the truth! Mashu is one of those universal meanings..."Divine truth", "Protectors of the truth".

Now I don't know Hebrew or Yiddish, but maybe you could help me on this in my Egyptian translations. There were Judaic Pharoahs, I am told, probably among the Hyksos Shepherd Kings of the 17th -20 dynasties.

One of the tell-tale signs, correct me if I am wrong, is the shepherd's crook and the flail, signs of the Hyksos, in the Pharoahs crossed arms.

Another clue to me is in the name... Shinto ... plausibly "Shee in tee".... "spirit of the sun god"? (I am guessing on this)

But first things first... let me translate 10 cities you name, into their Egyptian equivalent, possibly Aztec meaning, and lets go from there. This might be fun and educational, let's see how far we get, if anywhere.

to be quite honest i have no knowledge of egyptian and its not similar to hebrew so i dont know about that.

actually way later during the Davidic dynasty king Shlomo(Solomon) being the first to claim the Nile for the kingdom.

again in i dont actually see a connection to any hebrew(koach is spirit and shemesh is sun) but maybe egyptian

Sure what would kyoto , tokya, osaka, okinawa, or any of the major ones be?
also i have found support for a theory of the a few of the lost tribes to have gone over to japan.
NOVA Online | Lost Tribes of Israel | Where are the Ten Lost Tribes? (3)
it seems plausible but i think it unlikely. these things tend to migrate especially names and words. also another article points out that abraham sent his other wives like ketura east. Hence the reason for the following"
"Not only does Chinese acupuncture promote pressure or needles on the exact points on which Tefillin are wrapped, but it promotes treatment of the arm and head before the hand, consistent with the process in Jewish Law for putting tefillin first on the arm, then on the head, and only then on the hand. Acupuncture theory reportedly sees the points on the hand as "multipliers" that increase the effectiveness of the points on the arm and head. The author of the article concludes "If someone handed an acupuncturist the above point formula (the places where Tefillin are placed) and asked what is being treated, there is little doubt that mental and 'shen' (spiritual) issues would be a strong part of the pattern. What is surprising is that such a point formula would be found in a non-Chinese procedure that has been continuously practiced for many thousands of years.... It seems clear that putting on Tefillin is a unique way of stimulating a very precise set of acupuncture points that appears designed to clear the mind and harmonize the spirit."
so while it seams to me possible is still think it would have to do more with this than an actuall crossover by the lost tribes or such.

pugtm...again thank you for your response....
I think we will all be pleasantly surprised when more evidence is found...the question is not IF there was influence, HOW MUCH influence was there... and I vote...LOTS!
Here are other similar theories...

Harry Leichter's Jews of Japan
Lost Tribes of Japan
http://moshiach.com/tribes/ns/5.html
I hope we are not losing touch with the main topic...
well but you see most of these similarities can be explained away as coincidence. symbols have been used and reused by cultures again and again. words have traveled through trade far further than than by the original people. and some similarities in traditions and festivals can be because of the way the world revolves. Almost every culture had a spring festival or celebrated the equinoxes.
of course it just may be that as a Jew i am seeing the differences more than the connections, But i just have a hard time seeing it. Even the entire focus of the culture is different. Jews celebrate life as the highest honor god gave us whereas the Japanese used to celebrate their death as the highest pinnacle.
This is the point where you are asking a serious, extremely valid, question, probably hoping for a drilled down, scientific type of answer from a cabdriver!
yeah so what cab drivers aren't smart or cant have opinions? I'm 16v years old :-) and i love arguing with adults and i refuse to be looked down upon for my age. I am very well read and smart and can argue politics and science with the best of them. Don't put yourself down over something petty like that. In this day and age we all have access to many books and if you are taking the time to argue it must mean you have a good amount of brains.:p

Joseph, for example...

pugtm...this is where I am asking a question, hoping for some of your expertise, if you have any in this area....

The name Joseph. Did it ever mean "flower" in Hebrew, such as the flower of God? Flower of Abraham?

What does Joseph mean?

Point, maybe....I am making a big logical leap here...

Egyptian... Shashenq...I say it is Zho-Shee-en-ka... Flower King, or Joseph King, or Joseph, King of Flowers?

Japanese... Sushi... Flowers...? correct me if I am wrong on this. The fish meal is made to resemble flowers. Popular proper name... Zhoshee, I would be curious to know its exact meaning and origin.

Aztec... Zhochimilco... Zho shee meel co....Field of flowers, and King of Flowers, very famous Aztecan name...appears in many forms, all related to flowers.

Any help on this, on the Hebrew, Japanese sides, would be appreciated.

Thank you... interesting play on name-sounds....

Sushi...Japanese for flower-fish?
Shoshenq...Eqyptian for ??? Zho shee in-ca.....Flower King?
Zhochimilco....Field of flowers... Aztec

Hebrew... "beautiful", + "red", +"gift"
SHAINA, SHANI, SHAY, SHAYNAH, SHAYNA, SHOSHANA, SHOSHANNAH

interesting English "similarity".... deli-cious , scrumptious

Still not close enough to be anything conclusive, but very interesting to me.

there's no connection
scrumptious is a perversion of sumptuous
The etymology of delicious is
delicious
c.1300, from O.Fr. delicieus, from L.L. deliciosus "delicious, delicate," from L. delicia (pl. deliciæ) "a delight," from delicere "to allure, entice," from de- "away" + lacere "lure, deceive." As a name of a type of apple, attested from 1903, first grown by Jesse Hiatt of Iowa, U.S.A. Colloquial shortening delish is attested from 1920.
just because the sound is the same doesn't mean it's necessarily related. Now if the etymology is unknown like the Japanese word daberu i would agree. By the way it means to speak similarly daber in Hebrew means to talk. No known etymology exists so a connection is plausible.

The suffix, not the word...

pugtm...thanks for your response, but I think you mis-understood...

The suffix "cious" is what I am after, and it is a very weak example...

Zho-shee, Sushi, Shoshenq, Joseph, Susanna...

Let me check the explicit hieroglyphics on this...my greatest "re-discoveries" come when I am validly challenged like this. It is too coincidental to me.

For your reading, while I research, more of my speculations...Joseph ??? and Xochi...Zhochee among the Aztecs...

From another thread....

Joseph and his Technicolor Dreamcoat???, among the Aztecs....

Was "Joseph" known to the Aztecs as Xochipilli, (Zho-she-pee-lee), Prince of Flowers?

here i found it for you:

Dictionary.com Unabridged (v 1.1)
-ous
1. a suffix forming adjectives that have the general sense ツ"possessing, full ofツ" a given quality (covetous; glorious; nervous; wondrous); -ous and its variant -ious have often been used to Anglicize Latin adjectives with terminations that cannot be directly adapted into English (atrocious; contiguous; garrulous; obvious; stupendous). As an adjective-forming suffix of neutral value, it regularly Anglicizes Greek and Latin adjectives derived without suffix from nouns and verbs; many such formations are productive combining forms in English, sometimes with a corresponding nominal combining form that has no suffix; cf. -fer, -ferous; -phore, -phorous; -pter, -pterous; -vore, -vorous.
2. a suffix forming adjectival correspondents to the names of chemical elements; specialized, in opposition to like adjectives ending in -ic, to mean the lower of two possible valences (stannous chloride, SnCl2, and stannic chloride SnCl4).
[Origin: ME < AF, OF < L -ōsus; a doublet of -ose1]
3.
-ous
suff.

1. Possessing; full of; characterized by: joyous.
2. Having a valence lower than that of a specified element in compounds or ions named with adjectives ending in -ic: ferrous.
[Middle English, from Old French -ous, -eus, -eux, from Latin -ōsus and -us, adj. suff.]

see it's a middle english thing.

Middle English...

This is going way off topic, and only myself to blame.

pugtm...I don't know Hebrew or Japanese. I only know a little bit about Egyptian, Aztec, and a lot about reading other persons opinions about the Judaic connections, and Egyptian/Amerindian connections.

You don't know Japanese. So in effect, we are two blind men, guessing.

Sure, its a "middle English thing"...profound observation. But we are way off topic in areas we don't know enough about. The biggest joke I hear in my dog and pony show history speeches is..."Wasn't that an Indian name?"

Clue!!! It's like a gauge of cognitive awareness...or daftness!

You say no connection. I say yes, absolutely, postively, huge connections with boatloads of authors over the last 500 years who are also dismissed as being "coincidental". It doesn't matter. Lets end it before this thread destroys itself, I failed in my own measure of presentation to you.

alright if you insist i'll stop but to be honest i was enjoying the arguement. As soon as i learn japanese decently well i'll be right back with a similar thread.

yea, there are pyramids in japan too...
There are pyramids in every known stone building culture on earth. It is due to the fact that the pyramidal shape has very good structural integrity as apposed to square buildings so with primitive materials like stone you could build a lot higher with such a structure. They are found all over the world.

Some background information...

Yatagarasu...
Three-legged crow - Wikipedia

Yah = Moon God
Ta = Divine, or God (compare with Dios, or Tao Te)
Ga = unknown, possibly related to the Earth "Ge", or Egyptian Geb, Qebek (Goose)
Ra = Sun God
Su = Spirit (Chee), or Sky (Shu) spirit, or in a stretch..knowledge/power/protection... (Sia)

So many of the ancient Chinese artifact collections include a three legged cauldron or pot, with two Geese on its sides?!

Could it be representing a Trinity of... Moon God, Earth and Sun Spirits, represented by a three legged bird?

Second subject....

Not specifically on topic, I did find some background information on the origins of languages, which I hope some find pertinent.

From my amateurish viewpoint, I see Chinese/Japanese/Korean written languages evolving from the cuneiform versions of the examples, while the pictographic glyphs I found among the Cretans/Hittites evolved towards the Egyptian hieroglyphics, the Cretan, Mayan, Inca glyphs.

What we know of our English written language probably evolved from the Judaic/Greekish/Celtic flavors...of written sound-symbols.

pugtm...any clues?

For your information.... from a great website... called "Golden Age Project", in the UK.... we have some language comparisons...

The script, according to Heyeerdahl, was brought to the island from South America. South America was colonized from India both by the Pacific and the Atlantic routes, in the third and fourth millennia B.C., but most often via the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. The columns with even numbers represent the Easter Island script, those with odd numbers represent the Indus Valley script."

Two interesting reads...

In Quest of the White Gods, Pierre Honore (Nonore?)
ERM - In Quest Of The White God | The Wesley Swift Library at Christogenea
"800 years ago the Arab Adbul Calif visiting the pyramid of Giza noted that the stones fitted together so exact that neither hair or pin could go into the joints between them. In 1880 Sir Flanders Petrie in examining the inside of the Pyramid found that the faults in measurements and angles were small enough to be 'covered by a thumb'. The Spaniards found this same type of perfection in Inca land. Fergusson wrote of Cuzcos' architecture that it was beyond anything achieved by the Greeks or Romans, or in the Middle Ages. Even more imposing...that the buildings of Cuzco were the old Inca fortresses from which the Indians organized their resistance to the Spaniards. For instance the huge fortress of Saczahuamed, just outside the Capital as well as the fortress Allontaytambo equally gigantic, deep in the jungle of the Andes, the ruins of which have survived. We have to go back to the earliest civilizations of Europe, to Tiryns, and Mycenae to find anything comparable to these Inca buildings. And the Incas had something which the Aztec did not have, scales of balance, and measurements which are the foundations of all science. The Incas had their measures, and they used beam scales like those of Ancient Rome or beyond. The Incas used the Roman division of their army into units of ten, hundreds, and thousands, and they also used the decimal system."

...and ...In Quest of the Great White Gods: Robert Marx

As I suspected, ALL my "theories" are just re-discoveries, of published books on identical theories, written decades ago, even hundreds of years ago! Much, if not most of this information is found in every library in the United States.

Yeah actually its not common knowledge but the first people to invent writing were the ancient Hebrews.Phoenecians usually get the credit however Phoenician is actually ancient Hebrew and they only get credit for it because they were traders and traveled around more than we did and spread it around.

wow, nice :-)

care to give us meanings of all 50 sounds?

Ohhhhhh, sarcastic, maybe!

OK...you got me.

Slight change on meaning of Yatagarasu...

Yah, still the Moon God.
Ta-Ga, most probably, almost positively this is a take off on Tchaus, the Tay-shas, (Texas), Taisha, Teacher..."Divine Chiefs"... possibly "stars".
Ra, absolutely the Sun God
Su...probably "Sky", or "air"

So the three legged bird...representing... Divine Chiefs of ...Sun, Moon, Sky...or Sun, Moon, Stars...or Sun, Moon, Air.

The Gods of the Sun, Moon and Sky!

I am at the 99% confidence level on this "guesswork".

50 sounds? You think I'm a circus act? OK, you've been talking to my wife, that's not fair!

Japanese... Sushi... Flowers...? correct me if I am wrong on this. The fish meal is made to resemble flowers. Popular proper name... Zhoshee, I would be curious to know its exact meaning and origin.

The word sushi has nothing to do with flowers.
Now it is written 寿司, 鮨 or 鮓 in kanji but it originally came from 酸し, which is an adjective meaning "sour".

As pugtm pointed out again and again, similarity of sounds does not mean the words are sharing the same culture/origin.

[note]
寿司、鮨、鮓、酸し are all pronounced "sushi".

As pugtm pointed out again and again, similarity of sounds does not mean the words are sharing the same culture/origin.
Exactly how many cultures have mama as the word for mother? Hebrew its ima, in Russian mama, English mama. Its because that is the first sound learned by infants due to the fact that it is also the easiest sound to make. All same sounds but reason is not cultural interchange or linguistic connections.
By the way what is the word for mother in japanese?

Yes, you are right...and no, maybe you are wrong?

All these opinions are valid and good. You are guessing that I am wrong, I am guessing that in many cases I am right, and guess what....we are all guessing! Slap ourselves on the back, we win!

Ma-ma...universal name wherein (I believe) it's physical sound and mechanical vibration on the nipple induces milk to secrete from the breast! So ma-ma-ma-ma, the baby is saying...food, food! And the teet secretes!

And the Amerindian name Ma-ma-ro-neck is related I believe to the Dionysian cult Mamallones, a female cult of ??? religious revelers, I truly believe!

But how can any of us know any of this? Can anyone truly believe that the Greek Ogygia is the Amerindian/Polynesian Hawaii? Or that the New Jersey Amerindian "Passaic" or Pascack might be the Greek Psyche? Or that the Amerindian Neponset might be related to the Japanese name Nippon? Or that Japan might be the Amerindian Shippan?

Japanese today argue their own culture back to 400 BC, and then it gets fuzzy. American culture passionately argues in favor of Christopher Columbus being the first "European" in the Americas, despite the proven Viking presence, and the alleged Irish-monk presence of 558 AD, and everything else.

Who is right and who is wrong?

I say everybody is connected to everybody. Japanese show the YAP DNA string back to Greece, and claim Jomon heritage in a percentage of their genetics.

So what is so surprising about names that sound the same, from cultures that are geographically separated from each other? I am not sure what we are disagreeing or agreeing here.

By the way what is the word for mother in japanese?

It's "haha". But its pronounciation had changed over centuries - it used to be pronounced "fafa" and "papa" in the past.
I think it is another aspect which has been ignored by those who claim same/similar sound = having the same roots/origin. (Don't you agree?)
Comparing modern words/sounds to seek for the origin does not make sense.
