Got a trip planned for August 2005; I'm utterly lost as to where I can find information about attending any sort of car meet - i.e. drift competitions, any kind of weekend unsactioned meet, etc.

Also, I'd like to buy some cheap car parts while I'm over there, nothing major.. just parts I could probably find at a junkyard.. so any info concerning junkyards and exporting car parts (small parts, no whole cars or front clips) would be appreciated.

If any of you living in Japan could maybe guide me in the right direction or actually guide me while I'm visiting, it would be very much appreciated.

trip is still in the planning stages (so i need some help!) but this is my second time around in japan; i'll probably be going to tokyo and osaka

check battle mag for the 'whats on' guide for drifting comps, best way to join the drift community in japan is to meet the locals!
i keep up to date as much as i can about events and happenings in the aichi/gifu region, there is regularly action at yz and mizunami motorland circuits

i really need some info on where to buy cheap parts... for example i'd like to buy some 180sx type-x kouki tail lights.. they're about 500 bucks here in the states.. would be great if i could find a junkyard!

yea they pretty rare/costly in aus also, as a matter of fact they are rare/costly in jp too
up garage and s/h autobacs are the easy way to buy parts for cheap, and there is many shops all over the place....
altho despite some awesome buys you can get at them, i think youll be pushn ur luck to find cheap kouki lights for 180s or 86s....
dont forget that alot of the parts that are highly desired in other countries are just as desired here
better alternative to kouki lights for the 180 is buyn new copies! and im sure they were just shy of 30000y (which is what you should be expecting to pay for kouki RPS13 lights for anywys)

the kouki tails go for around $500+ here in the US.. pretty insane, though if i could go to a junkyard, i could find smaller unique parts that would be unavailable here in the States, is it even possible to browse a yard?

for car parts; hit up super autobacs. they've got anything and everything.

for track events: jgtc.net and d1gp.co.jp
