Japanese atm question.

Hi,

I'm from the Netherlands, and I was wondering if it's possible to use Maestro (ING Bank, amongst others, usable in Europe, for example) bank cards in Japan (would be more convenient than using a credit card, which I don't want anyway)?

Note: While in the US about 16 years ago, using Postbank (now ING Bank) cards was no problem at all, but then again, Japan isn't the US ;-)
