side of the road, or not?

Have you tried the bicycle-mounting test, or do you avoid this as well?

OK serious answer here...I have been driving automobiles for over 25 years now. I got my first license in the US (left-side) and now drive in Japan (right side), I am right handed.
The only trouble that I experienced at first in Japan was the location of the gears in shifting a manual transmission. But I got over that easily, now it really doesn't matter, I think it is a matter of getting accustomed to the environment.
Now I usually use my right hand to drive and my left to give myself a shave on my way to work in the morning.

The side of the road you drive on isn't a religion, you know. 
In fact, it's necessary to obey the laws of the country you live in, whether you like it or not. It's safest to drive on the same side of the road that everyone else is doing.

Just a question. Why does this matter so much to you? I'm curious as to why you have decided to single this out from other world issues of import, such as AIDS, human trafficking, human rights abuse, genocide, etc.?

I think it is important that people like Mike Cash can kid them selves
that right handed people, driving on the right with their left hand is OK
and "correct" Just because he wants the advantage to remain with an
18% minority left handed and left eyed group .Or more likely he

I did not invent the information for this. I read about it in a UK
New Scientist magazine. My only mistake is I do not have the article, but

I, too, have driven regularly in the US and in Japan. The only difference I notice is that the turn-signal and windshield wipers are on opposite sides of the steering column.

OK, now stay with me here, I think it's because the majority of homebuilders are right-handed. A right-handed person's natural instinct is to turn to the right when intalling something on a wall, if the choice is turn right or left. Since the most convenient way to install a toilet paper dispenser is to face the toilet when doing so, of course this is what the carpenter does, natually turning to the right wall to do so.CC1 said:

Simply saying I saw it in an article and then claiming it as absolute proof is not good enough.
