Why do people always have to add stuff about prayers?
There are plenty of people in the US who aren't interested in that stuff,
even more so in another country.
Do something nice. Leave it at that.
Keep religion to yourself.

WOW! I thought most southerners were.....

religious and the US had a religious freedom type attitude ? Kind of "different" that you took time to join JREF to complain about prayer ? I'm not super religious , but if the person next to me wants to pray , more power to em. Some people believe in the power of prayer and it makes them feel good , why should we knock it ?

I totally agree with uncle frank.

Your spitefulness toward religion is no better than people use religion as a weapon. How about.. if it is not causing a disturbance to people let it be. Clearly religion has hurt you somehow in your life.. i pray you will be ok.

Hm...
If one doesn't want to loose friends then it is better not to talk about religion.
History tells us over and over again that people can really hate each other because of all the different religions on our earth.
I wish the people of Japan all the luck and strength they will need badly.

If you wish to help japanese people by offering to host some of them at your home until the nuclear threat is over you can find the community "host japanese people" on facebook
and writte how many people you can host, languages spoken, location and nearest airport and your contact details so that you can be reached by any interested japanese citizen
