i believe that Islam has a chance to give the Japanese people what they have been missing for so long...a faith.......... a reason to live.
as every one knows Japanese youth are some of the most materialistic young people on the planet. and they seek truth about life and the reason of life, and the secrets of creation...maybe they should read about Islam that might provide answers.
plus i read that suicides in japan are of the highest rate in the world, maybe that is because people don't believe in the after life, and judgment day...so when they are tired of their life, bored or depressed they just end their life...
but when given a reason to live ... a code to abide with that promises a better after life...people might build hope..
and be better human beings.
when Muslims actually abide with Islam correctly they can build a nation as powerful as those that were found ...

The sucide in japan is the manifestation of beleif that killing oneself as an option would lead us to another world where there is heaven or paradise and live in peace. This attitude is the wrong belief thinking that attaining Nirvana and Buddha's land lived somwhere in the far place in the universe- a place of heavenly bliss..This is no different from Islamic belief or quranic teaching that fighting [even if it takes violence] for oneself to die for one's belief would make a person lived with Allah in his paradise. This is self-defeating attitude. Thus, it would not make any difference on the minds of materialistic japanese(mostly dont believe or have no religion).

If there is any teaching or philosophy that i know of that would make the lives of all beings(not only to japanese) to attain "security in this life and in the next life" it would be the humanistic philosophy of the Lotus sutra. It is something that all people(muslims or non-muslim followers) should learn the philosophy or truth that is embodied in that sutra-the truth in which it affirms the universality of Buddhahood(or truth) to all living beings...

Be sure that Islam is opposite of whatever you know about religion. I graduated on Islamic Studies. I memorised the whole Quran and many hadith (the Prophet's words). I read a lot of books in arabic mostly on Islamic issues. Muslims always ask what they need to know and whatever they wonder. Even we say "no shame to ask to learn". I mean no limit!
Finally you can't find even one field in Islam that is forbiden to ask or to learn
. If you feel, you can ask me through this forum. We will do our best to reply it.
Regards,

Does islam(as political ideology) encourage to question religion including Islamic beliefs itself and is it forbidden to ask and learn from other religious faith? or is it forbidden to leave islam and do encourage free thought?

In Islam, apostasy is severely punished and consider a crime or sin both religious and political sense...

Nichiren san, it does little good talking to yourself. Please check the dates of the posts made that you might feel you would like to respond to, and check the 'last activity' on the right side of that member's profile, before answering.

Also, please keep the thread's theme in mind. Thank you.
