Is Japan Dying?

could you at least quote an excerpt and provide some fuel for discussion (like your own opinion, perhaps).

No one likes going to a thread just to be told to click on some outside link.

Or I could have waited for someone else to post their opinion, as I thought my original idea was a big dud. Was yours equally as bad as mine?

It's not the literal death of the Japanese people or nation. It's said that the population of Japan will be halved by the end of the next century. In addition, although probably not the best example of Japanese people, there is a small portion of the population becoming more entrapped in video games, anime, and manga as they become more disassociated to the reality around them.

Imagine "The Matrix" for a moment. A Japanese person is the main character in the movie. Instead of wanting to break out from the false reality he's been placed in, he turns to erotic dating simulators, and it's a huge loop that repeats itself forever.

I found the article very sad that more and more people are deviating from video games, anime, and manga being entertainment to it being a lifestyle.

sorry,i didn't read the article in the link...you should rather post the article here...

How do the members of this forum that live in Japan feel about this?

BBC article: Is Japan a dying nation ?
BBC - World Tonight: Is Japan a dying nation?

UK media tend to make sensational articles .... not only about Japan but also others ... because they need to draw attention of subscribros, readers and listeners for survival in competing with rivals. So, "Japan is a Dying nation" or similars are not new thing.
So If we take it into serious consideration, Japan must have died 20 - 30 times already.

But only thing for sure is that Life in Japan remain unchanged.

Or do they want new land in Japan ? duhhhhhhh......

No I don't think so, but it's just a nature of journalism, which is somehow similar to eco-terrorism. Both are living on sensationalism.

I wish I could change the name of the thread to, "Are Dating Sims Destroying Japan?". ._.

Or do they want new land in Japan ? duhhhhhhh......
