When no one was around I derived my greatest comfort from even more deeply internalized old friends I can't post here.
Many years ago I worked with head injured kids and your comment brought to mind a little guy I worked with who was about 5 years old. He was a cute, roly-poly wheelchair-bound little guy with a cherubic face who, due to his head injury, would regularly blurt out cuss words that would make a sailor blush.
Ah, the things we internalize...
He was one of my favorite kids in the adapted cub scouts troop I led.
