I Got Stoned at Work Today

When no one was around I derived my greatest comfort from even more deeply internalized old friends I can't post here.

Many years ago I worked with head injured kids and your comment brought to mind a little guy I worked with who was about 5 years old. He was a cute, roly-poly wheelchair-bound little guy with a cherubic face who, due to his head injury, would regularly blurt out cuss words that would make a sailor blush.

Ah, the things we internalize...

He was one of my favorite kids in the adapted cub scouts troop I led.

Now that you've had a kidney stone, just say "I felt a twinge" and grimace while tenderly patting the area. Always got me out of the doghouse. Powerful magic, though, use it sparingly.

But I always look like I'm passing a kidney stone....
