"take a beating"

Wow after taking a beating like that I am surprised you can walk.

I don't like these tires because they can't take a beating from bad roads.

どう言う事全然分かりません。妻に教えてみたけど、コンセプトがあまり理解しませんでした。

妻のお勧めは:
「ダメージがひどい」

Not sure how to make it sound natural, but the first thing that came to mind for the first one is:

「ぶっ飛ばされたのに、(また)歩けるなんてすげぇな!」 Something with ぶっ飛ばす would be good for "take a beating" in this case.

For the second sentence, what your wife suggests seems fine. Something along the lines of "ひどいダメージが耐えられない" for "taking a beating" in this context. Literally, it means "can't withstand harsh damage".

「(これらの/この)タイヤがひどい道からのダメージが耐えられないから、好きじゃない。」

ひどく叩きのめされて(たたかれてしまった?殴られて?し
まった)しまった後、
あなたが少しでも歩けるとは驚きだ(驚いた)。

ひどく叩きのめされて(たたかれてしまった?殴られて?)し
まったしまった後、あなたが少しでも歩ける
なんて驚きだ(驚いた)。

These sentences are good I think. But there may be a better way. Please refer to your own private expert. ☝

I don't bother her with Japanese question too often. I want her to concentrate on learning English. Yeah it doesn't make a whole lot of sense but for her to naturally the meaning of things in English maybe better than me always translating things for her.

I'll try to have help with special phrases like the one above but not simple things.
Yeah I am weird, I guess.

Anyway thanks for the help.
