Wow after taking a beating like that I am surprised you can walk.

I don't like these tires because they can't take a beating from bad roads.

Not sure how to make it sound natural, but the first thing that came to mind for the first one is:

「ぶっ飛ばされたのに、（また）歩けるなんてすげぇな！」 Something with ぶっ飛ばす would be good for "take a beating" in this case.

For the second sentence, what your wife suggests seems fine. Something along the lines of "ひどいダメージが耐えられない" for "taking a beating" in this context. Literally, it means "can't withstand harsh damage".

「（これらの/この）タイヤがひどい道からのダメージが耐えられないから、好きじゃない。」

These sentences are good I think. But there may be a better way. Please refer to your own private expert. ☝

前彼女は痛めつけると大損「おおぞん」を進めしたけど感じがちょっと違うと思ってる。

ちょっと意味がわからないけど、、奥さんには、上の英訳のレベルは高い過ぎてよくわからないかな。。。

I don't bother her with Japanese question too often. I want her to concentrate on learning English. Yeah it doesn't make a whole lot of sense but for her to naturally the meaning of things in English maybe better than me always translating things for her.

I'll try to have help with special phrases like the one above but not simple things.
Yeah I am weird, I guess.
