thanks merivindur. LOL!

semi~sweet >> Well, lol sometimes people will become like that XD.

I'm 44 - why is "41" the oldest listed age in the poll??? That's only halfway through life!

Us poor ol folk are way out numbered by the young whippersnappers, LOL. Lucky they acknowledge that people live to be over 40! Welcome to JREF!!

I was surprised to see the results of the poll, as although i've only been here a few days, I seem to have encountered quite a few posters older than myself. I guess polls are representative only of those who actually respond to them, and perhaps one explanation (that seems to make sense to me) is that as we grow older we are less concerned with age, and may be less involved with this thread.

I mean, when you are 15 the difference with someone who is 20 seems vast, but now that i'm 31, I really don't see much difference with most people that are five years either older or younger than myself, or very much more in some cases.

I guess for me, the age of someone is interesting and may be important in some sense, but what i'm really interested in is where they are in their life, perhaps what their past held, but most importantly where they hope to go in the future!

Thank you! I guess this means that over 40 on this site is elderly! Maybe as seniors we should have some special privileges??

Made of stone: I've found that as I've gotten older and time seems to be going by even faster that my age doesn't matter so much, but I don't mind if others want to know how old I am. It seems like kind of an accomplishment to have gotten so far through life already with no fatalities!!

Yes indeed, we are very lucky to be here, it's a tremendous blessing. Illness or terrible tragedy can strike at any time, every moment is precious (but how fast they fly by!) Let's make the most of every minute!!!

That's one reason why, though I should really get my career back on track this year in a big way, my first priority is to have a much-deserved holiday for myself, starting in India. The second priority is to visit my friends around the world, especially in Japan, that I haven't seen for far too long. The third is re-launching my career.

General 'wisdom' here in the UK tells me my list should be reversed, but I don't care! Life can be short, so follow your heart to the end of your dreams, I say!

As I slowly get to know Jref I see there's a very active J-music scene here. That's not really my thing (I only have a few favourites like Supercar, DJ Emma House and Ego-Wrappin') but it's a very encouraging sign for this site that there are so many members who have a very real interest in Japanese culture. In contrast to what I said in an earlier post, that might be why there are so many younger folk here?

It makes me even gladder to be a new member on Jref, that people are so passionate about pursuing the things they love. Kanpai! Here's to you all (of any age!)

<edit> STAR DRAGON, sorry sir, just saw that was your very first post! May I welcome you here, and I (and surely many others) are looking forward to getting to know you. Why not post on the member intros section, and we'll take things from there!

I've also done things not by the usual "wisdom"! I think it's best to live that way instead of doing only what it seems you "should" do. Life is far too short for that! And it's true, it can end at any moment.
