How much safety can foreigners get in Japan ?

in fact I know someone who is planning to travel to Japan pretty soon ,, but her parents and brother are not OK with this because of the crimes, earthquakes, kidnappings.......etc and many other dangerous stuff happening there ,, so she is wondering about this journey ,,

She heard many dangerous things about living there ,, for example that there is annually 2,000,000 crimes .. not to mention the natuaral disasters ..etc

so I thought I would ask you here ,, I hope nothing in my question is broking any rules here ,, I am still ( VERY ) new in this forum ..

First off Welcome You can tell your friend's family to not worry, Japan is one of the safest countries out there! 2 million crimes is nothing, come to America for example you'll get that many in a week About earthquakes, theyre most of the time not really severe, but every once in a while they are, I dont think it'll be too much of a problem, with natural disasters I mean. Theres not really a lot of crime, most people are very respectful and to tell you the truth, I as a woman felt totally secure there walking at night alone. I've never gotten kidnapped, lol robbed, nothing. My friend evn lost his wallet with a little over 10,000円($100), and the next day some man walked to all the hotels in the area, until he found my friend to return it. They really are a polite people, with an extremly safe environment.

Japan has one of the lowest crime-rates in the world for such a populated country.
Though they do probably rank one of highest for natural disasters. But that's not very controllable, right? But if the positives outranks the negatives, then go for it.

You're probably safer in the cities. My friend's friend was raped in a more rural area there a few years ago, and the police scoffed at her when she went to report it. Not to mention all the counts of stalking and fondling my gf has told me about. But it all happened when she was a child, so if you're an adult you probably won't have to worry.

Speaking from firsthand experience, having been in Japan, it's a perfectly safe country. The stat about 2,000,000 crimes sounds like exaggerated crap to me, and natural disasters happen everywhere! Just look at what happened in Florida over this past summer!

I've traveled the streets of Tokyo at night, and had no problems. Hell, I felt safer there than I do in my own neighborhood at home. As long as a person practices caution in any country the same way they do at home, then you can travel anywhere and feel perfectly safe.

if it's just "crimes", jaywalking and parking tickets and all sort of petty crime is counted towards that number too.. if that's the case, that number is *extremely* low compared to the amount of people in Japan.

Pull out those figures for your own country and you'll probably find yours has more
