How many of you are actually Japanese?

I'm Canadian.. half French, and half a mix of Scottish and many other Euopean nationalities... perhaps even native American... but records are uncertain. :)

I was born in California and grew up there but have Japanese decent. Does that count ?!

u are where your parents are born and thats it. not there great great ancesters or anything just mom or dad and where u were born lol u cant say im german italian blah blah blah its where ur parents are from and u. im half chileno and half cuban, i was born in montreal, quebec canada. and was raised in Miami florida USA ^^ and now living in japan

Like Heather above, I'm also Japanese-American but both parents are Japanese Nationals. Technically I guess that would make me a Nissei but a younger one. You'd think my Japanese would be a lot better but just like Utada Hikaru, I'm a bit more Americanized and while I can get by in general conversations, since I look Japanese I'm often expected to know more and be better. Definitely puts a lot of pressure trying to meet others expectations.

Yeah that sucks, goes for me too although my mum is Iranian and I was born/raised in the UK. I'm guessing its like this for most people who have parents from one country, but grew up in another. Really gets me down sometimes...

There really aren't that many Japanese posting here. Not sure if the moderators have that knowledge and are willing to post a percentage.

Don't let my avatar fool you with the Japanese flag. Read the avatar to see my nationality.

If it's worth anything, I counted 6 Japanese members who visited the fora during the last 24 hours. 😌

United States-ian (I don't like "American" despite its common use, it ignores the other countries in the three Americas). I think my ancestry is a combination of French and Polish, but several generations back.

I'm also Californian through and through - go NorCal!

Far from being Japanese, just a Finn who is not even living in Finland at this moment.

I am 1/16 indian and the rest chinese but born in France and currently living in the US (and no plans to continue the bloodline so far). I am also often mistaken for a Thai or a filipono 😌
