東京の生活は may be OK. But would sound awkward if it might even suggest you are implying that Tokyo has a life independent of the people...Yeah, I'm really sorry. Your sentences are what I meant to put, but if we pretend (and I'm sorry we've been doing that for the past two examples of mine) that they are all separate sentences, do they work?
NYCは東京のような市です。
NYCは東京のように高い建物があります。
東京の生活はNYCのように忙しいです。
NYCのように東京での生活は(本当に)忙しいのです。(Like NYC, Life/living in Tokyo is busy...
(Compared to America), the living in Tokyo is generally difficult and serious. And STILL I can't wait any longer to get back there!!
東京での生活は本当に大変なものですが.... またそこに行くのが待ちきれないですよ 。
