Frank....
I'm planning to travel to Japan this summer to research my travel writings. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it after I write it, but for now it's just my excuse to go back there. I really like Japan and somehow I want to spread the word to others that they should go there. I'm thinking about teaching a class at the Experiemental College, but who knows.
Do you know who Rick Steves is? He's a local hero around here. Through his teachings, people learned that they could travel to Europe on a budget and now people do. Before he came along, a lot of people didn't think it was possible. I think Japan needs a "Rick Steves". I think people can travel to/in Japan for a lot cheaper than they do now and I hope to give them the information and encouragement to do it.
I hope to tailor my findings to appeal to a demographic the likes of recent college grads who have no money but have a desire for adventure and a willingness to sacrifice their comfort and go out of their comfort zone to get it(and of course anyone else who's interested).
Surprisingly, I meet a lot of people who say "I could never go there" when I tell them I've been to Japan. And my message is YOU CAN!
