Hello! I have been living here in Japan for the last 11 years or so. I have a full time job but also act as a translator/interpreter for hardcore/punk/metal bands that come through the area I am posted. We often gets bands from overseas and I act as an intermediate between fans, the other bands and help the bnad get around Japan while they are here. (food, shopping etc...) I also work as a photographer and have a homepage that I would be happy to direct people to if anyone is interested in viewing the work. I use traditional negative based film photography (no digital) and employ multiple exposure techniques inside the camera to create atmospheric, dream-like portraits. The theme of the work is and has always been "Dulcinea"
Great to meet you!

And I may be close, but not as close as you might have thought. Anyway, crustpunker san, it is nice to have you on JREF, and I do hope that you stop by from time to time, do a little key 'punkering' and let us get to know you.

While there may be a number of folks here to DO do photography, I wish to introduce you to Mike Cash. If you were to find his username (as is) at the bottom of the main page (and I hope he doesn't mind me volunteering this information) where it lists those who have been on line in the last 24 hours, and click on his name, his profile might have a link to his site. He does some really great work too.

In the event that there is no site link there, I'll get with him, and ask him to share that with you...and I don't think he'd mind doing so at all.

EDIT: I went and checked, and did the work to make it easier for you. Here's that link: Mike Cash's Photoblog Archive - Japan from the Driver's Seat (hope it works right)

Good to have rock'n here, and look forward to doing some rock'n with you over these up coming years...

Catch you another click ! MM

Hey there Mars Man! Thanks for the warm welcome! I wish I had found out about this site earlier! I hope to post from time to time and though time is often something I am left wanting, I will endeavour to find some for that expressed purpose!

Cheers for the link! I will go check that out right now.

I will supply a link to my own page but right now it is down due to the fact that it is going through some changes at the moment...

Right! All the best and great to meet ye! Till soon!

Lledargo-san

Cheers! Well, the music thing and photo thing would be a LOT more fun if I actually got paid enough to do that full time. Alas, this is far from the case. The band thing is cool though cas I usually get a bunch of stuff from the bands like shirts/cd's/records etc which I would probably buy anyway so in that sense I guess it kind of saves me money? As far as the photography goes, I have a handful of clients that I work for totally irregularly and then have shows at various galleries/cafes/wherever the hell will put up my work at various random times throughout the year. ONCE in a blue moon I actually sell work but it would never be enough to live off. Therefore, the majority of my time is spent at a fairly normal 9 ta 5. (Oh wait this is Japan sorry, 8 to 7) At which I also work every Saturday as well. It does leave me wanting for more time to myself but I guess that's the way the potato mashes aye? Anyway, pleased to meet ya!

Welcome to Jref crustpunker! Rock on friend!
btw, Spokane? I have family in Spokane! Cool. You live in Twin Peaks Country?
