Oops! I already started posting!

Well, let me introduce myself. I'm Stephen Munday. Orginally hailing from the UK, I am now living in Aichi where I work for a company called Internet Support doing translation, marketing and handling internal communications.

I have also lived in Kanazawa (where I used to teach at Hideki Matsui's high school - Seiryo), Kanmaki (near Osaka), and for a few months in Osaka and Kyoto respectively.

I have also completed the Sheffield Uni Advanced Japanese Studies MA. If anyone is thinking about doing that I would be happy to chat.

Hi kirei na me. Where is Konan-shi? I live in Okazaki and work in Anjo. I get the feeling it is not near me. Can you write in kanji?

Denso is all over the place near here. If some Japanese person tells me they have lived in the US I can guess that they were in Michigan and work for Denso and I am right most of the time.

Konan is just north of Nagoya, right? The closest I get to it is when I go to the airport about 50 minutes from here on the expressway.

Yeah, my husband works for a division of Denso that moved him to Virginia 10 years ago. That's how we met.

Anyway, it's not often that someone from Aichi comes to the forum! Hope you will like it here!

Is Denso an auto parts company?

Isn't Toyota in Aichi? In a city called "Toyota"?

Yes, Denso is a very large auto parts co. Toyota is located in Toyota. This is not a coincidence, although the town was named after the company. It used to be called Korome or something like that. I forget the exact name.

Yes, it's the one of the largest auto parts suppliers in the world, I guess?

The company my husband manages makes circuit boards and wire harnesses for Toyota, GMC, Chrysler...and a few others, I believe. They used to make parts for Honda, but don't anymore.
