Hello everyone! 😆
I'm Myaku...
I'm 20 and I live in San Francisco, CA...
I have a love of all things Japanese! The culture, the language, music, food, history... The anime! The smexy JRock and JPop scenes... All of it!
I just happened upon this forum, and thought I would check it out!
So... hi!

I suppoose you went to see ~Lost In Translation~ more than five times.
I bet you are going to see the new ~Fast and Furious - Tokyo Drift movie~.
I will let you know something that is driving me insane.
Those movies do not portray how things really are in Japan.
Lost in Translation of course shows Tokyo.A story of 2 foreign people with dreams that cannot come to fruitation in Japan.
Impossible.
Fast and Furious 3- is all unrealistic in every way.
Japan is cool to visit for a week or two.Living here is a total diffrent matter.
Keep the otaku dreams alive.

Rainy days and rainy nights.....like a song from the past, hang on our calendars and over our heads here in the Japan Alps today. But with the help of electric lights, I still feel the sunshine of my life and the power of love--far plenty enough to send you a big 'WELCOME' to Jref !!

I hope you enjoy all of it, and share and learn with us here, as often as you can. See you 'round !! 🙂

Thank you for the warm welcome, everyone! :-)

Well, I must correct you, my friend.

I didn't like Lost In Translation... I found it dull and uninteresting. I saw it once and once only. I didn't see it because it was set in Tokyo. I saw it because I am a Bill Murray fan.

I just recently saw Tokyo Drift. Again, I didn't see it because it's set in Tokyo. I saw it for the cars. I mean, really... It's the Fast and The Furious. I am not expecting cultural accuracy from it at all.

Despite what you may think, I am not so daft as to assume that life in Japan is the way it's portrayed in movies. Which is one of the reasons I joined the forum - To learn more about Japan before I go there myself.:-)
