Gackt

um... as far as i am aware, people outside of asia can't join Dears, but i havent looked into it in-depth... i hope Gackt changes his mind about that...
 
we really should mob his myspace and hope he changes his mind like someone suggested earlier mwahahahahah i'm all for it (and while we're at it, maybe beg him for some concerts in USA & europe???)

i would too... he is one of my favorites... wat wouldn't i give to just be able to meet him, give him a big hug, and tell him i love his music
 
same here, he's the only musician i remained true for about 10 years...all my other "favourite" bands come and go but gackt always stayed... gackt and miyavi (even tho i dont know miyavi for THAT long)
 
That's the point. From all bands I know are Gackts, Miyavis and Gazette songs are the ones who impressed me most and touched me most.
 
Gackt and Miyavi I get... but Gazette?? To me they don't really stand out from the rest... (i mean no offense of course)
It's just that the Gazette to me are a slightly better looking version of Duel Jewel who do fanservice... but whatever, Filth in Beauty was good...
 
Maybe but they were the band who actually brought me into the visual kei and jrock world. i mean i knew gackt, was listening to his music (always loved it), same with miyavi but i didnt care about the whole jrock scene. and then I found out about gazette and I met so many special people because of them, maybe thats why theyll always be special to me.

gnah im watching gackts performance of ghost at music station again... i just cant believe how great it was *__* im addicted to that song lately

did you watch gackt on this weird cooking show in january? i found it on the net but still didnt really get what it was about lol

other than that i find it interesting that in ghost in the non singing part (at music station with the robot dance) the music turns kinda in the "battle music" of final fantasy (game for playstation) and gackt also is dancing like the enemies breath and move in final fantasy (and that he was reportedly the model for some of the final fantasy characters)

^^ lulz no i havent but he was the model for Cloud... my bff keeps referring to him as Cloud... and he did do some of the songs for the ff games, i think i heard somewhere that malice mizer did the cloud's theme thingy... and i think redemption was in advent children but i might be wrong.
 
Gackt was the model for Genesis. He wrote Redemtion, which is the theme song from Dirge of Cerberus, which is Vincent Valentine's game. I don't think that Malice Mizer wrote anything for FFVII. That doesn't seem very like them at all.
 
wasnt gackt also the model for squall? or at least i heard something that they did "form" squall like gackt without asking him or something, too many rumours going around about gackt and final fantasy but i thought it was really cool when he did that "final fantasy-dance" in the music station show (coz im a final fantasy addict^^)
 
I don't think he was. The only FF character that they have actually credited with modeling on Gackt is Genesis... and he did the motion capture/ voice for that character so it basically is him!
There are similarities between him and other characters, for example Vanilla era Gackt and Cloud... although never acknowledged...
I think his role as Genesis could be seen as finally recognition that he was inspiration!

And no MM definetely never wrote for FF.

382addict - I haven't seen the Final Fantasy dance on Music Station... do you have a link to it?
 
MM didn't write for FF? oh well... i must say that the first time i saw vanilla, i was quite surprised to see what i thought was Cloud... heh no matter it was quite cute

in the background this "battle music" starts at 2:10 and he's kinda moving like the enemies breath and move from then, especially from 2:15 on (its just a few seconds tho)

Does anyone have a favorite hair style of Gackt's?
For example, mine is the hair he had in the 'Arittake No Ai De' PV. ^_^
Then Vanilla would probably have to come next (although...in the bonus stuff on the Diablos DVD, where he didn't have his curl extensions he was pretty sexy...).
Just a conversation starter...n_n
 
i really liked the one in redemption... i think the curls made him look softer somehow, more ethereal... and yeah vanilla is second, and mm era takes third...
 
Molestthyguitarists, you are always saying that you prefered Gackt before he changed his nose, so I was wondering if you have seen Verte Aile?

Oh my! So much has gone on and I've missed so much! Reading the previous posts have brought back memories. I thought Gackt modelled for Squall when FF8 first came out and then I thought he modelled for Cloud when advent children came out too. There was a point when I thought Cloud's best friend, Zack was modelled after Gackt too. But a quick check into FF's web tells me that these are all not modelled after Gackt. But somehow I just wilfully refuse to believe that they aren't modelled after Gackt. LOL! Gackt has modelled for game characters besides FF right? There's Bugaijin though and both Bugaijin and Genesis really looked so Gacktish.

My favourite Gackt hair style is Diabolos Tour. It's the same as the Redemption hairdo ^^
 
Incognito69 - Yes, Gackt was the model for Genesis. And I'm pretty sure that Genesis was the only character he modeled for ^_^.

Gyc-jir - I loved Verte Aile! Did anyone else find it amusing in the part where his wife dies that he took 15-20 seconds just to find the stairs after he ran into the house? Just a thought ^_^.
