Gackt is ugly.

I would never want to be famous. You face so much ridicule.

I know I commented on this thread a LONG time ago, but I can't remember what I said.

All I really have to say this time, is that I'm not really digging the new look.





But, I still gotta give him credit for changing his look and dealin' with the scrutiny.

Now, I will say it's not my favorite but hey it could be WAY worse.
 
Yea it could be worse. While I dont think cornrows are his thing. He could go back to the Moonchild mullet. THAT WAS WAY WORSE

I didn't think his hair in Moon Child was that terrible either. But that's just moi. And it could also be because it's hard for Gackt to look terrible at all in my opinion.
 
In my opinion only J-Rockers can wear mullets and get away with it. Yet at the same time not all of them can do so. Gackts Mullet in Moon Child was a NO NO IMO because it was a braided mullet.

@Hyde If you did like the mullet its okay. I just didn't but he has had worse hairstyles than the braided mullet.
 
Yea Gackt doesnt have Conrows anymore....he changed it again. if you look on the cover of Fool's Mate Febuary 2006 you see that he has no cornrows, but it a side pic so you have to REALLY look at it. and my friend in Japan said she saw him on a tv show and he had no cornrows it was just down
 
yes and he looks gorgeous but posting this in a thread titled 'gackt is ugly' seems so unappropriate

ok, time for some logic. Why should it matter how good or bad he looks, it's the music that counts! Also the name of the tag was abit quickly picked in my opinion. Like you could have said 'do you think Gackt is pretty, or ugly?'

I think he looks alright though, not fantastic, but not pretty bad either.
 
Eh...they weren't bad...i just think they look strange on Japanese people (or white people for that matter). Plus they interfered with Gackt's prettiness.

Well, it wasn't the cornrows themselves that bothered me, but the long curls he wore behind them. It really weirded me out.

As Yokan said, it IS about his music. It's just that when he does such strange things with his hair, he's less desirable. And like I said, cool that he's willing to jump out there and do such things. It's neat that he has that uniqueness about him. But keep in mind, many people like Gackt because of his looks primarily. Which, may be a bit sad, but fangirls are a lot of the reason that he's as popular and successful as he is today.
 
Yeah, his cornrows did make him slightly less desirable, i couldn't get used to lookin at them. But whatever he does with his hair or costume doesn't change his voice. Heck, his feminimity (that a word?) freaked me out at first, and it was his voice that made me obsessed with him. And that of course changed my opinion of his looks.

yes sadly, there are some musicians who i felt they should have deserved a lot more popularity but didn't. that's unfair but it's the way it is sometimes. yup it's his voice that had me hooked up too but i think it doesn't hurt if the artist who makes the good music is also good looking, no:?

Edit : where is the Gackt thread when you need one!? is it somewhere in the older pages? if there is, i want to dig it out. discussing all this in a 'gackt is ugly' thread seems so weird
 
Aha, of course it doesn't hurt if beautiful looks go along with the beautiful voice, that just makes it all the more better.
And besides, good voices just don't belong with ugly people.

Well, where else to discuss it? No one brings up the lie that gackt is ugly!

I hate this thread anyway.
 
Haha, alright, maybe they do. It just makes it easier on the eyes to watch a video or live performance when the person is pretty. But i've yet to see any Jrock/Jpop artists that are ugly. The japanese seem to be much better than americans at looking good.
