Dog Words

Hi. I have a game called Nintendogs, you've probaly herd of it. You can speak into the game and it records it. Like the names of the dogs, and the tricks it can do. I want to do tricks and the names in Japanese, but I don't know most of the words...

I herd that when you telling a dog to do something, it has to be "-te" form. I don't know if that true... If you can, please type the following words in romaji and hiragana (or, if it is in, katakana). I knwo some -te form, so you don't have to explain the plain verb, but just right the english, then japanese, here's an example that i hope is right :

(to) sit : suwatte すわって

like that...here are the words I need:

(to) sit
(to) run around in circle/chase it's tail (give me the 2nd one, if there is one)
(to) jump
(to) sneeze
(to) lay down
(to) roll over
(to) heel/beg
(to) shake butt
(to) shake hands
and anything else you would tell your dog, in case I forgot anything.

A piece of help (others, don't hesitate to correct if needed):

(to) jump: tonde! (iie iie, joudan ;-))
(to) sneeze: ugokuna!
(to) lay down: don't know...
(to) roll over: gurugurushite (tadashikunai kedo, kawaii )
(to) heal/beg: don't know...
(to) shake butt: buriburishite?
(to) shake hands: akushuu! (not sure about the spelling here)

Plus some more I think you could use:

(to) drink: nonde
Stop it!: yamete!
Go!: ikke!
Die!: shine! (er...well, sorry, it's not that kind of game LOL ;-))
Dance!: odoroke!

...I don't have more in mind right now. If you find other funny tricks for your dog, don't hesitate to come and ask here, OK?
Ha, and by the way, "osuwari" is best for saying "sit" to a dog...and in reverse, -never- say "osuwari" to anyone except dogs, or you'll make people angry! ;-)

Some dogs behave so well that their owners can tell them to heel and not even bother to look to see if the dog obeyed or not.

This is known as "faith-heeling".

Getting back to commands for dogs, they aren't exactly the same as used with humans:

(to) sit: Osuwari
(to) run around in circle: Omawari
(to) jump: Jan-pu
(to) lay down: Fuse
(to) "heel": Tsuite
(to) shake hands: Ote

These are the only ones I know...

Of course it depends on your dog's prior level of Japanese but speaking strictly for the humans "osuwatte" or "omawatte" are nonexistant words. If you are that concerned with politeness and refinement, please use the conventional forms Epigene has suggested.

i am sure Tomii's dog won't have "a prior level" of japanese ability, as it is just a video game.
