It's not official yet, but I'm at about JLPT 2-kyuu level. Taking the actual test this year. From some mock-tests, I know this is the right level for me; 3-kyuu is way too easy for me, and 1-kyuu is still over my head.

i know Katakana,Hiragana & a bit little Kanji.
Oh,My writing ability is better than speaking....:p

Yeah, I speak Japanese. How well is a matter of opinion, but I at least qualified for the 5,000 a month Japanese proficiency bonus with my company.

My entire salary is contingent upon Japanese ability, although they'd be justified in docking my pay sometimes.

I can speak Japanese, but not fluently.
I started studying seriously - but all by myself in 2008.
In 2010 I passed the N2 and won a prefectural speech contest where I was the only one who was self-taught. All the others were students of Japanese.

Since that I haven't really studied at all, so my level hasn't gotten up since then, I guess.
I can manage daily life all alone (e.g. going to the hospital, asking about things on the phone etc.)

Apparently my Japanese can't be that bad. People on the phone often think I'm Japanese and sound very shocked once they ask for my name and notice it's a foreign name. *g*

My wak points are probably grammar and writing (not typing!) kanji (because I never practice).

What kind of job is that?

Eh, Japanese is a tough language. Sometimes I feel like my Japanese completely sucks. It's just one of those up and down periods all us expats get, I suppose.
