Did you once make penpals (keypal)? More female or more male among your penals? If you are male, do you prefer to make female penpal or male penpal? If you are female which one do you prefer? Once I had several penpals, I replied every mail, but girls quited earlier, are girls less patient than boys? Or because man is a lone creature so they prefer thinking and writing?:?

I prefer women just looking for males period seems a bit "窶堋?窶堙披?堙遺?堋「ツ"ツ It seem sinappropriate due to me having a girlffriend but I let people know I am taking an dnot llooking for anything more than a friend.
I had one penpal (keypal) we use to talk like once couple days but I started talking to her on MSN and she didn't read my profile. Asked if I had a girlfriend told ger yes. Haven't heard from her in like 1 week and half. I hope she is just busy.

I am still trying to make friends so if i have questions about speaking japanes eI can always ask someone. But it seems to be hard to get responses from J-Friends. ☝

I once had a penpal, we contacted for almost 10 years, sometimes we only wrote one or two mail a year. My keypal wrote to me one mail a month or two months. Seems you're in suspicion? Well, it's the biggest enemy of friendshiop I think.

Hum...it reminds me of 4-5 years ago...I used to have lot of penpals from different countries, and althought they were mostly girls, I was sure that no one was looking for more than friendship (well...I once got asked out to by a canadian gay but that's another story). But sadly, people tend to have more and more occupations, and nowadays I have only like 2-3 of these penpals left...

I think making net friends is the same as in our real life. No one is always looking for more than friendship, that'll scare away others! :-)

hanging out friends and you happen to meet some other dude thats friends with your friends @_@ and ya'll click thats cool how else do you make male friends but actively looking for males to chat with @_@. Maybe I am just not secure enough in my manhood, call it what you want it's my opinion. Now if the female friend i meet have bf or what have you and me and the bf click then hey more power to it.

and you'll be surprised how many people actually would like to have something more than a friend but put that out there.....

Hhhhhhm..... Well I perfer either but it seems that I have never had men reply only girls (japanese girls) so i don't know... I tend to have more girlfriends than I do male friends but I get on with pretty much everyone so I'm not bothered

Haven't had one in a long time.

This forum format is like a big pool of pen pals for me loosely put.
Instead of being attached to several people in particular, I can put posts that interest me, and gradually I will end up sharing more mail with some people than others.

Onto your question: I have no preference for either male or female. If somebody is impatient, what can be better than this online format? As long as I know I have to be quick with that person. But speedy replies have their place.

If somebody likes to work alone, and hence writes with time and deep thought, online format is again ideal. Sometimes it is good to let the message sink in so that I can soak up the ideas and feelings until I know the meaning as fully as I can. Such pen pals will make me think harder.

I tend to go back and forth between being spontaneous, and being more contemplative. If I chose only one way, that might drain me in the long run, or put me to sleep.

Well it is hard to say since in the chatrooms you tend to meet lot of women in their 30's and desperate to find the right man :/
I remember when I was in AOL's chatrooms a long time ago women used to think I was a 30+ aged man and started to bother me with this kind of stories...

I Gave Up On Penpals!

After a while I run out of things to say. Then I procrastinate writing back. Then I feel guily about taking too long to answer, and I give up writing at all.
I figure I better not start something I never finish.

hahaha...that's funny :D You'd be surprised how many women out there are lone creatures...I think overal if girls aren't really interested they just don't bother to write back or let something know.Just like damicci said, if they know u'r not available they just don't bother anymore(this doesn't count for ALL the girls, so don't get me wrong) I never had penpals, but I have quite a lot foreign ppl in my msn :) Now I'm talking to ppl from all over the world on a daily basis...and the funny thing is, I get to talk to them more then my own friends in belgium !! Oh yeah I prefer talking with everyone, male or female :) I'm trying to make some friends in beijing, because I'm planning on going there this summer 👍

I don't like penpals, to whom I have to write back and forth, and they can't even show up in front of me within one hour when I wanna go shopping, see a movie, sing karaoke, or just have dinners.

Last time I forgot my wallet after I had my hair done in a salon. One of my friends arrived within 20 minutes just to loan me fifty dollars. Well... that was friends are for.

But for chatting, I prefer to do in online though. It is open 24 hours a day, and there is no obligation! For those who're afraid to attract "unwanted sexual attention," there is actually a method, but it still can only decrease the likelihood, not eliminate it 100%.

To avoid idle bashers/stalkers/lunatics, just join a discussion board required for an annual fee. The monetary amount usually is not high, but according to many people's experiences, the fee somehow largely eliminates the number of these people (except when you're joining a dating service where you are looking for a soulmate/fuXk.. then maybe... 'cause they have many desparate members in the first place).

Special-purpose disscussion boards are the best! I've just found this industry analysis forum. Membership only costs US$75.00 for three years, and I can ask unlimited questions and get almost-instant answers from other members who're currently working in that field. I think discussion boards which apply some kinds of threshold requirement are really good places to share information.

Really? Are those women serious? I never knew that western women could be desperate to find a right man. ☝ Aren't they fashionable and independent?
Oh, I wish I would never be such a woman. :-)
A watched pot never boils. :p

I'd rather have both, but there are certian things you can't talk about with a guy. That and most female's are a little smarter. I have a cousin that I used to E-mail alot. We used to talk alot when we were little, and later on we'd have these debates about random things... mostly to see who was smarter because she was a major brain, but anyways, she'd usualy mop the floor with me... so then on second thought mabe it would be better to have a conversation with another person. Alot of girls seem to take pleasure in making me feel like an idiot, like there was this one in highschool, I could never talk straight when I was around her so she kept saying how funny the stuff I said would be. was like... Great, now i'm the funny guy... Course when I just sit here and type stuff, then dont revise then that's bound to happen sooner or later online too.

I happen to believe that winning an argument isn't everything. The winner sometimes doesn't realize that he/she's done a great favor by giving out valuable comments. But that's what happens when people talk. It's really a two-way thing. And sometimes the whole purpose is just to reconfirm that you're human, not some funny guy/gal. I also happen to believe it often takes more intelligence to make people laugh, whether you intended it that way or not. Not, btw, is the better I think. 👍

You know, the only penpal I ever had was back in grade school. That of course was about almost 20 years ago. Personally I'm more of the loner, but I feel that having a penpal or an online chat buddy is better than speaking to a person face to face. Of course that's just me.
