Hiya!

I thought it might be fun to see how often you eat or cook Japanese food.
With "eat" means homemade i.e. that your friend, gf, bf, wife, husband have cooked for YOU.
NOTE: no restaurants and takeaways...sorry, but you are welcome to post that you only eat at restaurants.

I'm just starting out... you know, have to go to Uni, and surviving on burger king (my closest supplier) would probably kill me ve'swiftly. :(

My husband and I cook our meals almost everyday which gets annoying sometimes.
I like to eat more Japanese style of food while my husband thinks it is not interesting enough, but we have white rice at least 3 or 4 times a week with fish, chicken, and vegetables.

I love eating out, too, as a matter of fact, we are going out to dinner tomorrow night, and I will have vitello (veal scalopini, capers, garlic, shallots, white wine, mushrooms, cream and glace de veau). I am so excited!

I wish I could eat Japanese food everyday. I go to J-restaurants as much as I can, but I'm a bad cook and only know how to make a few things, none of them Japanese. I can add hot water to instant miso. Does that count. :?

I can't afford the good Japanese restaurant (yes, only one) - there are two crap restaurants also around, but they're pricey and not worth the money.

Groceries are triple the cost in Boston and quadruple than that in Toronto, so I hesitate to even buy things like mirin (cooking wine) - but I try to make something that resembles a Japanese dish about once a week. Mostly chicken/veg and rice ingredients that I take to lunch.

I'll be going to NYC soon, where I'll be binging on Japanese food, no doubt.

Erm....Sadly, I don't think this counts...
But instant miso is a good start my friend - I use instant aswell a couple of times a year, and it tastes good!! 📣

I can cook pretty good sushi.. I like to learn to cook new foods. I like to cook Japanese food too

I don't know why, but sometimes, I will cook Japanese almost every night, then other times, I'll go for a few weeks and not cook any Japanese food.

I've cooked some dishes so much that I'm tired of them and will probably never eat them again. I've been tired of okonomiyaki for a few years now and I get tired of nabe-type stuff too.

I really wish I knew how to cook Japanese food (well it's not that hard, just gotta do it, lol).

きれい な め want to cook me some Okonomiyaki? :P
It's my favorite JP food^^

Have a great time in NYC! It is really easy to get good Japanese food there.
They have everything from sushi to natto chahan(natto fried rice...).

I would really like to make "nigiri zushi" w/ row fish myself if I could get fish that are fresh enough; I only make "smoke salmon roll", "california roll", and "shrimp nigiri" which are not as inspiring.

mmmmmm GOOOD!

I love Japanese food!!! My friend Junko taught me a few recipies, although the location I live at now doesn't have any Japanese market. I make Okanamiyaki, Sushi and Miso (from paste adding my own ingredients), as well as a few other rice dishes when I have the ingredients. I have an awesome recipie book that she gave me as well, but it is all in Japanese and I can't read it!!!!!!! The photos look so yummy!!! :(

I practically live off of home-made curry and fried rice...

...That and ramen noodles--but those aren't exactly "home made". :D

I even cook the usual German stuff only rarely, for cooking is too much work. I live from bread & butter (well, margarine, actually). But very seldom I prepare me some basic sushi.

I have a Japanese cook book, but I can't read it!!!! My mouth waters just looking at the photos... I NEED a translator!!!!!!!

I'm a great cook, but most of the time I just prepare Mexican or Italian dishes. I want to make some Japanese dishes and with college starting in a less than a week I might get the chance. Thank heaven for Japanese class! 👍

When I spend time with my Japanese friends I am often asked to cook Mexican and sometimes Italian food. I tell you what, there is nothing more fun than teaching a group of Japanese studnets how to make tacos and spaghetti with homemade garlic bread. Sadly before they could teach me how to make Japanese food they had to go back home and my best friend (Japanese student) doesn't know how cook! Well, now she can make tacos! :D

:gohan:

I'm not a great cook, but I get by :)

I make japanese food often, as I like to eat many small dishes as opposed to one huge dish.

i have recently started cooking japanese food... and it's not going that great.
but i make a kick-butt chinese soup

The nearest japanese thing I "cooked" is 3 min Ramen, haha.
I wish I could cook the real thingie.

I or my husband cook Japanese food every day. Even when I make pasta, the sauce tastes different (sweeter..) Last week my parents visited so I made them mostly Western food - or westernised Japanese food. By the time they left I was craving a traditional Japanese meal! If I go back to NZ, I will miss Japanese food so much. IMO it just doesn't taste the same outside of Japan.. and it's crazily expensive!
