Dir en grey

Let's see how much I spent to see them in LA:

concert ticket: $45? (I got the fast shipment)
Plane ticket round trip: $219
Train from LA to venue area: $3
hotel room: $77
food: $20
poster: $16

On top of all of that.. I had to run around in Korea town trying to find a place to stay because the hotel I originally planned to stay at didn't allow cash payments and my credit card wasn't working. So I arrived in LA @ 1015 am-ish and didn't get into my hotel until around 230 pm-ish. X__X Next time I plan a trip like that, I'll make sure my stinken credit card works. >__<

I am pretty sure that unless you lived in New York or LA that everyone spent well over $200. I am not saying that oh if you don't get the album your not a good fan, because in reality its not like they make much money off of album sales. It in the touring/product marketing where anyband makes their money. But I say just get it cause of the sales. Its not like Dir en grey gonna sale 12 million copies, but you know its good if they sell just enough copies to get even more attention in the U.S.

*orders 10 million copies for me and passed them out on the street for free exposure* is that enough to get them attention in the us? i wish i could actually do that though..lol i actually brought a few hundred dollars with me to camp out at nyc.....i ended up going home with 13 dollars and change in my pocket and i honestly dont even remember what or how i spent that money.....

i don't know if it would work, but i think they should make a US ver for Vulgar. Compared to WTD, Vulgar kicks alot more ***, i think it's one of their best album.

Hello! I'm kind of new to Dir En Grey but I bought their Withering To Death album in the US ($13 in my area). I LOVE it. But I must agree that their Vulgar album is better.

Haven't had a chance to see them perform live though. I wont be able to make their Family Values tour with Korn either . Hopefully one day I'll get to see them perform.

Though it's a close match, I like Withering to Death over Vulgar. I'm a bit partial, with WTD being the first album I heard of theirs, but it's such a strong album imo, especially for breaking into the western music scene. It's like a breath of fresh air ... I remember first putting it into my cd player and hearing the beginning to Merciless Cult and immediately thinking "I'm in love", lol.

I spent a lot for the LA show as well *_*

2 plane tickets: $500
Hotel room: $165
Taxi: $258
Cd and dvd (from the concert: $60
gift for toshiya: $45
3 concert tickets: $162

They use up peoples money fast who really love them, but it's ok as long as it's Diru or Rentrer en Soi

258 on a taxi?! was the taximade out of gold or something?!

its really weird.....i was one of those fans that didnt like wtd that much at the start....but once i listened to it a lot before the concert it started to get to me......and after i saw it live i died x_x i cant live a day without listening to it lol

No the taxi wasn't it was the total cost of a taxi the whole time I was in LA, not just from one ride in the taxi XD.

Withering To Death is on the U.S. version of iTunes for $9.99. I'm thinking of buying a couple of songs.

I think it's hilarious how on the family values message boards, the other bands have like up to 6 topics (threads) and Dir en grey has 20, lol. Korn has the second most number of replies in their threads at 74 wheras Dir en grey has 594.

Korn is SO lucky to have gotten Dir en grey for this tour!

When Korn realised issues they lost a HUGE portion of their fanbase.I know I used to listen to them but when that crap came out I stopped.

EDIT: I think it would be so damn funny if after DEG plays all the fans leave and the venue ends up somewhat empty. ROFLMAO!!!!! Korn would be like what happened?

Just the lawn seats are 9.99, other tickets are up to 60, tack on tax and you're looking at around 75-80 or so...

Oh, I didn't know that! Well, what other kinds of tickets are they selling other than the lawn ones? And which ones will get you closest to the stage? Sorry, I've never been to an outdoor concert. The Family Values Tour is outdoors, correct?

^ yup!

im guessing the new album will be out before inward scream starts.

I read this and i'm so happy something good will happen 3 days after my birthday ^_^. Now I want it to hurry up to the 27th of july so this single will be out.

Yea my only thing is I want a limited edition so I am trying to decide if I should preorder it. But I am going to be in Japan a few days after it comes out, so I was thinking Maybe I should buy it there just for the novelty of buying a Japanese CD in Japan (and to save on shipping) but then I am worried that If I don't preorder I wont be able to get a 1st press edition.

I've seen one--well, techically it was a Korn CM but Diru was mentioned. It was on MTV about a month ago.

This is probably really old news to you guys and someone's most likely said it already (thread's too huge to check) but Dir en grey was featured in this month's issue of Metal Edge!!! I bought my copy yesterday. I'm so happy for them and am so over-bubbling with joy at the fact that I got a magazine with them in it...in the USA! *cough* Okay, I'm done.
