def in Japan: a comic diary

Preparing for the next mini-comic... And working a heck of a lot harder on the covers than before. I want to print March, April and May in one bunch, so I need one more cover, and to get the translations finalised. I was really happy with this, an expansion of the image on my avatar.

More of the 'patronising' 'stereotypical' work that Masegu wants to love so much. If I could only be as fresh and real in my own personal life that I'm documenting, the way, say, One Piece or Sazae-san is, my comics could become part of the mass market in Japan... I'll have to try to spice up my daily life in order to get out of that niche market. (translate his... advice?.. whining?.. douchery?.. to get this.)

Anyway, this is one of my own personal experiences. Maybe you relate, maybe you don't. As I said, Chacun a son gout...

Finishing up the end of last month.

A suicide last week. Please keep in mind that this is a diary strip, and am expressing my thoughts on it at the time. Naturally, when this sort of thing occurs, you wonder why. In no way do I know their real motives, nor am I trying to imply I do. I can only describe something from my point of view.

Although I have been pretty busy these days, and haven't had the time for Jref that much I always checked your comics. Keep them up !!

Not at all! I gained some weight last summer and winter, and never lost it, so I was, to be honest, embarrassed to check. I've been walking an hour and a half a day for two months now, and when the pants are a little looser, I'm make the plunge and look. For now, I don't want to be depressed with the reality of my situation. All I'll say is, two months back, my summer shirts were tighter than I remembered...

I must say, your comics are quite good. The randomness of some of them made me laugh. In the upcoming months I hope to share some of mywork here so that you, amongst the community, may see (and perhaps even purchase) them. Since this forum is Japan-related I can feel free to upload my anime drawings, I hope you will be amongst those who comment on them, keep up the good work!
