Could someone translate this call for me?

I bought a Sony PS Vita while in Japan last week but on the flight home it stopped working. I know some Japanese, but not enough to navigate to a person. Could someone tell me the jist of what the lady is saying when you first dial in and what I need to press to actually speak to someone?

Says to call 0570-666-210. Once there press 4 for repairs. Or 5 for "other", which will probably net you a human right off.

How do you plan on handling the Japanese bit when a Real Live Person answers the phone?

I called Sony America and they said most employees in Japan speak English if you ask. I know how to say "Do you understand English" so, I just have to find an agent who does. I paid for a month of Unlimited calls to Land Lines in Japan via Skype.


EDIT: I try calling that number in Skype and it says it doesn't exist. I'm doing the correct exit country code in 011 then 81 for Japan. Am I missing something?

When I called 03-6733-0800 I had to remove the 1st 0 for the number to go through.

Try removing the lead zero anytime in any number when calling from outside Japan.

That thing have in international warranty? Or a Japan-only warranty?

I asked the a Sony higher up on Twitter if they would be able to replace it. He told me they would send me a replacement one no problem. I just wouldn't be able to send my broken one back because it's not worth the price to ship it back across the ocean.

I tried removing the zero, but both are showing as invalid numbers. I'm using this site:

as a reference. I will try different codes.

Probably a free-dial or something with some restrictions on it. They both worked fine when I called from my iPhone here in Tokyo.

Wait, these numbers are toll free? Would I be able to call them from my iPhone without international charges?

The 03 is a standard toll call. The 0570 is a "navi-dial" that companies can use for a customer service portal, also a toll call.

It says Navi Dial | NTT Com: Business (Japan) here that you need to pay for Navi Dial. You didn't get charged did you?

I guess I can't make this call then?

A few yen, don't sweat it. I have no idea about calling one from outside Japan. Heck, today was the first time I ever called one at all.
