COVID-19 Coronavirus: global situation

I think nowhere on the earth is secure against the ominous virus, neither North Korea, nor Japan; the experience shows this. Also, Japanese should not be confident about being vaccinated versus BCG or other known diseases. This virus is different and we don't have enough information about it.

The clinical experience shows, the vaccines or drugs that were used against other seasonal (or even non seasonal) sickness like influenza were ineffective on Covid-19 and couldn't freeze or destroy it.

Even United State by all its high technologies and facilities became unable against this virus and sadly the highest number of the infected people of the world is relative to this land. So, America and Europe are equal with Africa, Afghanistan and South America in the field of fight with Corona virus, rather the situation of the both areas is worse than the others.

As well as, I heard in the news, the situation of the disease in Russia is getting worse in the recent weeks, while it had a better condition in the last months. Despite Russia is the second power of the world with high technology and has its own independent government system, nonetheless it follows the resistant social, economic and security system of Iran. Most likely, the Iranian hygiene and medical organizations will help Russia how to control the disease as much as possible.

Of course Iran is ready to help all the countries and nations of the world and shares its golden experiences controlling the sickness to them. If even Japan encounters the crisis, Iran will be ready to help the nation immediately.

One of the highest ideologists of Iran said years ago (he was killed by bombing of oppositions, who fled from Iran 35 years ago) :

I bought 12kg of 'strong' flour from a specialist ingredients shop the other day, so I suppose I could become a flour baron! (I make bread most days with one of those machines if you're wondering why. ) The owner told me that the shortage of flour is caused by distribution problems brought on by demand rather than a shortage of flour. I imagine the shortage will go the way of the toilet paper and mask shortages.

Right now, in all the stores here, either there is only a few bags left on the shelf or completely empty shelves. Same goes for dry yeast. Also pasta seems to be all sold out. But not in all stores, some still have Greece and Italian pasta on the shelves. I bought about 5 bags of it. My only concern now will be the shortage of imported European tomatoes .

Mansoor - what you said certainly applies to some countries, Russia in particular, but I'm optimistic about Japan. With heightened public alertness and a government that now has a testing system in place, I think Japan will now go the way of South Korea and China with occasional clusters that are aggressively tackled. I could be completely wrong again though!

I think Tokyo and Osaka might see a surge once the drinking season starts. I got to say, the number of infections in Japan just seems very low, but the deaths are very low also. True numbers? I don't really know. I was sad to hear the sumo guy died. That killed the sumo for future matches. Probably for a few years too.

Excuse me musicisgood

Who was Sumo Guy that his death made you so sad? Was he a Japanese samurai?

Are you reselling, by any chance? :ROFLMAO:

For what it's worth, flour can still be ordered through Amazon Japan, in quantities of up to 25kg, even rye flour.

I tend to agree with Lothor that the situation in Japan is more or less under control for the reasons he stated. Today, I took the train for the first time in three months and found everyone masked and socially distanced. The client I visited had disinfectants placed about every ten metres in their facilities. I am by no means an expert on the US health system but I guess that a significant part of the general public suffers from underlying health issues, especially obesity and related diseases, such as diabetes. The same seems to be true for many European countries.

What I like about Japan is that you won't find a lot of extremism on either side of the spectrum: neither vigilantes who would jump on anyone not wearing masks or keeping the correct distance nor right-wingers who'd perceive each and every measure in the fight against CV as an infringement of their personal freedom.

Excuse me musicisgood. Who was Sumo Guy that his death made you so sad? Was he a Japanese samurai?

He was a 28-year old sumo wrestler who was diagnosed with CV and died due to underlying health issues (BMI of over 40, if I remember correctly, and diabetes).

I got cold. I don't think it is Corona disease.

Yesterday, I went on the roof to take the cooler motor to the yard to service that for this summer. I disassembled it and notice its rotor ball bearings has an inordinately tolerance. and I decided to replace them with two new ones.
I could do that but pulling out the bearings needed a pressing device so I had to take them to a technical shop to replace the bearings. I wanted to take the rotor to the workshop today.

Last night I fell asleep in front of my computer because of fatigue without go to bed and using a blanket to cover me. This morning I felt I'm sick. I had runny nose and felt a little weakness, and I sensed a heaviness in my head and thought I had a little fever. But my mommy hold my hand for a few seconds and tested my body temperature and told me, don't worry you are okay and haven't fever. Her word removed my worry somewhat.

Nonetheless I referred to the neighborhood drugstore weakly and bought a tablet of Acetaminophen Codeine pill and after going back to home ate two pills with a glass of water. Now, apparently I feel I have gotten better a little but the weakness is in its place and I feel a cold water is flowing through my bones. I also sense my head is a little weighty, though haven't headache.

I signed a contract with Covid-19 that it ignores me but I worry its promise is similar to the president Mr. Trump constancy who broke the international JCPOA treaty by himself between Iran, Europe and the White House and got out from the 5+1 governments group!

However, I hope Covid-19 remains on its promise and doesn't infect me. In the other word, I hope I have not infected by the virus, now.

If I remained alive, I will send comments to this thread so, and if I died don't be sad for me anymore. When I was in the battlefield against the dictator of Iraq, Saddam (of course I was a Toyota pick up truck driver) I experienced the explosion of many artillery and mortar shells, close to me while I smiled at them!
As well as, I experienced few times the bombardment of the Iraqi Su-24 very closely, but no one of the tens bomb hit me, though the explosion waves of some of them reached me. In fact I met the angel of death frequently but not as an official meeting!

Now I.m in front of my computer and am writing a comment with a sickness that is not obvious, whether it is a simple cold or Corona disease. I hope it is the first, because I still am young (75 years old) and don't like to die in this youth season.

I'm sorry to hear you are not feeling well but I feel certain that you will recover. Now is not your time to go.

Just today I heard a wonderful and regretful news:

The personnel of a nursing home in Sweden killed the numbers of elderly people who got Corona disease by preventing them to be sent to hospital!! Their inhumanly action shows, they wanted to get rid serving those old and weak people.

One of those female nurses who was talking with a reporter, confessed to this fault while had gone to park for walking freely, sat on top of a bench cold blooded and spoke satisfied!

This heartless nurse reminded me the character of the mad woman in the Misery movie that was a 1990 American psychological thriller film. I hope you have seen the movie because I'm not in a mood to tell you the story. Of course it was one of my favorite films.

Hope you are feeling better soon. Let us know how you are doing.

Thank you Lothor for your greeting

:)

Noting; just like most of the time working with computer, journeying in the internet wandering, drinking a cap of coffee occasionally, cooking a simple and fast food for lunch or dinner and dropping in the Japan forums alternatively!

Of course today I couldn't cook anything because of the sickness and my old mother cooked a food instead of me.

I feel a weakness with a light body so, and have some occasionally light cough every few hours but no sneeze and no runny nose after this morning.

I can't say, I'm well quite but apparently my sickness is not Covid-19. Most likely it is an ordinary cold disease.

Thank you Mr. thomas for your greeting, as well

I'm happy I was sick, because it caused I told my life story, unconsciously!

But let me I confess to a fact. I'm not 75 years old and I made it as a fun :)

It is told, they are women who mostly keep secret their age and usually subtract 10 or even 20 years! from their real age. If a 80 years old woman could introduce herself as a 20 years old girl, she would claim certainly! LOL

but I did reversely and added to my age! LOL

Today I'm better and have a good feeling, because Corona virus has not seen me yet or maybe seen but ignored me because of the great protector prayers that I read during the years.

God called humans to know him more, and request him to help them in the ocean of the life that sometimes is stormy intensely. :)

Now is the last days of Ramadan month that is called the month of God, the month of fast.

Unlike last year, this year, I couldn't fast because of a weakness in my digestive system. I love the thirst and hunger of the fast in Ramadan. After tolerating a little toil of thirst and hunger, it gives a particular spirit, happiness and spiritual power to the faster that is not describable, especially in the sundown that the faster eats every type of clean foods and drinks, with appetite. It is like the faster is a light bird flying in the blue sky happily and singing! In this situation the faster is satisfied of his effort and resistance and fast removes all his worry and sadness.

Sadly this year I became deprived of these gifts because of the damn digestive system weakness that continued up to now.

Thank you again :)

Based on the last news:

The number of people who were infected by Covid-19 up to now across the world, 5,407,414 ( 6.2% growth to the last 72 hours)

The total number of the passed away patients, 344,025 ( 6.4% of the total number of the patients up to now)

The total number of the treated patients up to now, 2,247,963 (some countries like UK, Netherlands and Norway don't declare their cured people).

America, Brazil, Russia, Spanish and UK are in top of the infection chart, respectively.

Venezuela with 1010 infected and 10 dead people is in the lowest place of the table.

Here in Maine , all most all new cases are in nursing homes or assisted living or low income elderly housing ; most over 65 years old. About 1/3 who are sick enough to go to the hospital die and 2/3's recover. Young people here seem not to worry at all about getting sick. The two houses near me have young (under 30) people who hold many parties where no one wears a mask or stays 6 feet apart. They feel only old people can get sick I guess. Each day here in Maine they find new cases where people show no symptoms and do not get sick. It makes me wonder if some tests are defective and give false positive readings.

Yes, despite the high number of the infected people in America, the medical personnel are using all their effort to save the people, who are infected with Covid-19. The endeavor of the doctors and nurses is appreciated across the world, among America.

Treating the patients in the hospitals is actually a risky and hard task for those doctors and nurses, because they are close to the patients, touch them inevitably and are exposed to infection more than other people, who are at home or avoid to go to the risky places.

From beginning of the Corona disease up to now a notable number of the medical staffs have lost their soul because of infection with the virus in the different countries.
Aside from any nationality, the doctor or nurses just think to their task that is saving the soul of the patients, instead of thinking to their own health.

The picture I sent was as a fun, though a few Italian nurses of the elderly house had some faults about aged people which I pointed to before. They prevented the old infected people to be sent to the hospitals, based on some news.

Here in Germany we have different regulations for each region, similar to Japan where there were different regulations for each prefecture. It's a bit annoying because it's hard to keep track on what's allowed...

Germany was one of the first countries with a bigger outbreak after China and infections increased like crazy. However, I think with the implemented measures we were able to get it under control quite well. Unfortunately, almost all measures have stopped now and I'm a bit worried about a second wave. Wearing a mask is still mandatory for shops, restaurants, cinemas, a lot of clinics, hairdressers, public transportation etc.
However, pretty much everything has opened up again including fitness studios, cinemas and soon even the wellness sections such as sauna, pools etc.
Borders to a lot of other EU countries are open again and no quarantine is necessary anymore.

Most kids are back to school, though on a rotating schedule (e.g. half of the class comes on one day, the other half on the next day).

Now that the first bunch of people started travelling abroad again, we'll see how things go . . .

I'm still surprised how Japan managed to keep the numbers so low. Yes, Japanese people were always careful with hygiene, distance and wearing masks, but then there are the crowded rush-hour trains, lining up in and in front of stores - all those situations are known hotspots even if you wear masks. *shrugs*
What are your thoughts on this? Do you think the numbers are really as low as stated?

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think the numbers are really as low as stated?
The numbers are only as low as stated because Japan severely limited the availability of testing and who is able to get a test and forced people to stay at home and recover without any special medical care. I believe there are private testing centers now so it's not as limited as it once but still limited compared to other countries.
However the mortality numbers are not that high, even when you add in deaths that are higher than average. So the numbers are surprisingly low with many theories about that -- from the genetic of the virus itself, the Japanese culture/hygene, Japanese history of vaccinations, Japanese DNA/blood type, etc.. Probably it's due to multiple factors.

Its been stated even on TV, its hard to get tested in this country. I was at the hospital yesterday and we had to fill out a forum with about 15 questions. My answers were all "NO", so I only had to go to a thermal reading camera ( unattended ). That didn't make sense unless if someone with a high fever, then the camera would sound an alarm, but I don't know.
Got an appointment on the 29th again to go. And like wow, the university hospital was jammed packed with patients. Unbelievable I tell ya.

There are two opposite things that have made the governments confused!

If a government restricts people to stay at home, this damage all the basis of the economy of the country; and if it cancels the limitations, then the government will have to wait for raising the number of patients, the relative casualties, and the heavy medical treatment expenses which will paralyze the public economy and break the ability of the medical systems versus the disease, in another way!

People are not able to observe "social distance" regularly and accurately, because of their daily requirements. They also can't tolerate staying at home for a long time. Whether or not, they will appear in the streets, markets, shops and recreation places, inevitably.

So governments and medical organization have remained astonished, whether they continue the restrictions or remove them!

Japan with 17382 patients is in the middle list of the countries that are involving with Corona virus and is the fifteenth land in the list that could control the disease at an acceptable rate, successfully.

I hope this condition continue so, but based on what I understood about this virus, it remains silent for a while in a land and then is blown up suddenly and infects a mass of people!

So, every country should be in alert about this behavior of the virus and doesn't trust in the low number of the patients in that land.

(Oh German Benz is my dreamy car that I have loved it always. I even don't exchange its lower models with the higher Ferrari Model 🥰 its design, engine, body, leather seats and beautiful cabinet are unique. I congratulate you Germans for manufacturing such the historical car. I hope I can buy a Benz car someday :) )

Germany is situated in the middle of Europe. Europe is the center of international traveling and transportation. This causes this ancient European land and its neighboring countries are exposed to the Covid-19 virus more than some other non- European countries. I hope Germany have had a better condition against Corona virus.
Be patient and observe the hygiene rules and be hopeful to a better condition in the future. I hope the German medical scientists are the first scientists, who can discover an effective vaccine for this severe disease :)

I've been feeling a bit sick lately. I'm trying to get home remedy since going out looking all sickly makes one think you have corona! I'm getting better today but it's really hard getting regular sick these days!

According to a study released by the British Medical Journey, silence is golden: the coronavirus spreads through large and small droplets produced when we speak and shout. *One reason* for Japan's relatively low numbers in infections might be the widespread and uncontested use of masks as well as the fact that people tend to be silent on trains and in public.

As covered by The Atlantic:

Mask up and shut up! 😷 🤫

Thank you thomas for this experimental information :)

Let me tell a humor

Hereafter not only people are obligated to use mask fpr social health but also have to write their purpose on a paper and show it to others instead of speaking LOL

How relaxing world will be a silent world without talkative reporters of medias that speak fast and nonstop LOL

No fake news this time:

While I wish the Trumps a speedy recovery, I'm convinced there must be some sort of karma at play.
