Hello everyone!

I am an International Business for Asia student at Rotterdam Business School in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. My project group is currently doing beer market research in Japan, and unfortunately we have not enough responses.

So I am asking all of you wonderful people here to help us out by filling this Survey (if you are living in Japan). I would also highly appreciate if you could send it to someone you know lives in Japan. It can be everyone, really. Your friends, family, co-workers, anyone.

Thank you all very, very much!

Not reading your survey , but can beer is out selling bottle beer at the moment. Reason why, people are staying home now and drinking due to the corona virus.
Hope this helps your survey.

I have just filled out your form. :)

When you ask “How do you like to drink your beer?”, do you mean directly from cans or bottles? I would assume that beer is usually poured and consumed in glasses.

Also, when you ask about brands, why did you add Kirin Lemon and Canada Dry Ginger Ale?

Yes, by the first question you mentioned we mean the way people prefer to drink their beer. Directly from can or bottle or to pour it into a glass. In some countries people prefer to drink it from cans and bottles so by this question we are trying to learn Japanese beer consumption behaviour.
To your second question; we added few "distracting" answers so we can see if people actually read the survey or just fill in random answers.

Nice to see a topical and Japan-related post. And great survey topic. You will go far in life. :)

When in Japan I prefer to drink my beer while in the ofuro.

Completed the survey. Small criticism - there is a gap in the ranges in Q7 (400-499 yen). I once bought Stella in Japan when it was on promotion and I got a free glass with three bottles. Japanese beer is pretty good so you're going to have a tough time introducing a new beer here!

I've just put your survey on my Facebook page, so hopefully you'll get a few more replies.

Dear natalieecer

I did not fill out your survey because my choices were not available (such as less than once per week). Aside from that, I think that sending your survey here is not going to give you an overview of "beer drinking" in Japan, but mostly of expat behavior (also many people on this site are not actually in Japan.

Perhaps, to get more representative values, you should consider gathering some demographic information so that you can be sure that the data represents more closely the information that you are hoping it will represent. (I am not sure if you already did, but I would also look at using a forum that has a better balance of more Japanese nationals and expats than this forum seems to have.

hope that helps.

Good luck!
