Beaches in Japan

good luck, from what i hear of japanese beaches
 
Hmm.. That's to bad
Is it because of pollution?
 
Shimoda beaches, about 160km south of Tokyo are quite nice. But, by far, the best beaches I have ever visited were located on Niijima Island. It's a "mecca" for young people. You can fly there or take a ferry boat from Tokyo or Atami. Just type "Niijima Island" into Google Search and you'll get an idea.
 
Unfortunately most beaches in Japan are disgusting and covered with garbage. What a waste for a country surrounded by water.

Or gigantic concrete blocks in the shape of jacks.

Really??? I think only some Chinese Beaches in the North are horrible

That's right though regrettable.
Many seashore in Japan is surrounded with a concrete block and garbage.

However, there are also some beautiful beaches.
Moreover, the reproduction enterprise of a beach is undertaken.
 

I have not gone to Niijima.
However, it went to the beach in Shimoda well.
The water quality here of the seashore is very good.
Every year, he went to the "touji beach."

I used to live very near Izu and went there often to go hiking in Shimoda or scuba diving in Atami. The beach in Atami is alright. I liked to watch the people fishing and cooking their catch right there on the pier. The train ride along the coastline to Shimoda is really nice.
 
The Chiba area is great, but the soto-bo seaside (outer) is crowded. Try uchi-bo (inner) it's really cool! :148: :148:

I just returned from a Tokyo trip last week and while there my wife took me to Kamakura and we had lunch along the beach. Living in Hawaii all my life, the comparisons are a bit tough since we have beautiful beaches here. The sand is brown and littered with lots of debris. There were about 100 children playing on the sand and in the shallow water...must have been a school field trip.

It was about 70F so very warm comfortable weather by Japan standards, a little cold for me to be venturing into the water.

Anyone ever notice that when Japanese people/children take photos they always like to make the "peace" sign?
 
I used to go to Wajima 窶氾問?懌?｡ﾂ in Notohanto 窶拿窶徙窶敖ｼ窶懌?｡ in Ishikawa prefecture.
It has a nice little beach.
Wajima is famous for their fine lacquer ware.

suisho hama or crystal beach in Fukui prefecure is a nice beach. you can see a nuke, though.

I can see that there is a lot of nice beaches in Japan!! But when I visited a tourist information center in Kyoto (Kyoto station) last summer, I got a different impression ☝
