Average height of the Japanese

Im 16 years old and 188cm is that considered tall in japan because at my school most guys are around the same height (1/4 is taller or something like that)

Yes that is very tall in Japan. I'm about the same as you but 3 years older. Japanese people that you'ill meet will make comments on your height, and for walking trough doors (train doorway included) you might have to duck sometimes.

But don't worry, after all being tall in Japan (and maybe throughout the world) is considered to be a very positive feature. And once you get here, you'ill thank God that he didn't make you look like some of the Japanese men here with an extremely childish looking body.

Well i like being tall so lucky for me, and Im desperate to go to japan but it will have to wait a little longer cuz theres school not enough money etc.

well in Canada, theres too many variations lol but average height for women is supposed to be 5''5 and for men 5''10 I think?? I myself am very short lol Im only 5''1 which I think is about 155-156 cm?

Yeah, I like being tall ~.~ but I'm talking about guys, and 1/4th is probably a little too many, but you get an idea.

I'm in Canada right now(holiday), and I see what you're saying. Many people are shorter than I am, but there is also a fair amount who are taller. I'm in BC Sechelt sunshine coast btw

I'm 5'8" and I'm 17. I got my mom's height genes so I stopped growing a while ago (I don't want to be tall) so I guess I'm average for Japan, eh?

Its a good height but you stopped growing on seventeen? i just started growing rapidly since 15 yrs old and still growing last summer i had a 5 inch growth kinda weird my gues that i will stop growing at 18, 19

I'm 21 and 5"2. I doubt I'll get any taller. But I like being small. Short men are cute too. But I have a towering hunk at home.
