i used to teach in japan a few years back when i was just a crazy 26 yr old. guess the place really grew on me because i have been back a few times since and am currently in odawara (sightseeing visa) and planning to move to tokyo get a student visa (please check out my post regarding finding a good japanese language school!). japan never fails to amaze me. today i drove a car down a narrow space onto a circular platform, the platform then moved to the right and a door opened. i drove the car in there and then got out and the car was whisked away like hanging a jacket in a wardrobe. these car parks are awesome. from there i go into the supermarket, intending to buy some fruit. i spy a couple of juicy looking oranges and go to grab a plastic bag to put them in. these bags are hanging from what appears to be a clothes peg. and they are all matted together... when i pull on what appears to be the next bag, the string where the peg is hanging from collapses and all the bags fall down and scatter all over the fruit below... this could be the worst plastic bag dispenser i have ever seen. its these whacky things that keep me coming back. car stored in a massive wardrobe - easy, bags for fruit - difficult. anyway feel free to share an experience like this with me.
