When the two desires have nothing to do with each other, し is used. How do you express several desires in one sentence in present and past tense? Would the following examples be correct?
国へ帰りたくて、家族に会いたいです。
国へ帰りたかったで、家族に会いたかったです。
e.g.
日本にも旅行したいし、家族にも会いたいです。
You can't use 日本に旅行して家族に会いたいです unless your family members are in Japan. 旅行して is interpreted as "go trip to Japan, and then in there want to meet ,,," in this case. The -te form is hardly used to connect two clauses when they have no relation.
If you don't need to emphasize the temporary length, particles are not needed.I have another question, this time regarding time. If I'd want to say "I didn't go anywhere for 3 weeks", would this be correct?
3週間にどこも行きませんでした。
And if I'd want to say "I didn't go anywhere for 3 months", would this be correct?
3ヶ月にどこも行きませんでした。
I'm uncertain whether I'm correctly using に here.
e.g.
1時間待ちました。
3週間どこにも行きませんでした。
Incidentally, 3ヶ月も日本語を勉強しませんでした is anbiguous. It can mean both "I had studied Japanese, but stopped it for three months" and "I studied Japanese less than three months". My two cents.
一人もいませんでした: There wasn't even one person there. / There was no person there.Wouldn't しか be more appropriate than も in that context?
一人しかいませんでした: There WAS ONLY one person there.
