I was not able to draw untill middle school... Then I expanded my talent. It took me awhile but I got there.

ah... I guess I said it already, but it doesn't hurt to say it again: Your girlfriend draws very nice, Kevin. -- eto... I wish I could draw like her... T.T anyway, if you want to draw like manga type thingys, maybe try copying from a drawing, then you can afterwards kind of have your own style, and then... well... just draw lot's of pictures! ^^
