America's Gangsta Rap, N**** Haters and Gangs

I've been looking around the net searching for some info about the gangsta rap and their "heroes", like 2pac, Snoop Dogg, Dre and N.W.A, 50 cent...
As I see through, nearly all of them have been gun holders, dopes, smugglers, vandalizers, prisoners, even murderers and so on. can you lighten me up a bit? why they are considered heroes? what has 2pac done to deserve such glory? what's between the east-side and west-side? I thought that African-American society backed each other up in America but now all I hear are "yeah, I'm making money, I'm rich and you are nothing! shut up nigga!..."
I know that nigga comes from spanish nigger = Black, and later it became popular, so why now they use it to humiliate each other? and finally, can anyone explain about them nigga haters? who is considered a hater?

that I wonder about some of the same questions as the original poster.The trouble with getting good answers to it will be :: Do we have any members that are a part of that culture and can give honest and true information about it?? I think most members here will only know what they see on TV and movies about that section of culture.

Try reading articles by enlightened afro-american intellectuals. Look up Dr Cornel West and read some of his articles and interviews.

about the "Heroes" term that I used, I meant that they're the famous ones right now and they've become rich and famous because many have bought their CDs, right? and I apologize for not saying African-American rapper society but I assumed that you read the "gangsta rap and their "heroes"". I don't think that Dr.West has anything to do with gangsta rappers. don't you?

from your posts, I can assume that they all were and are a bunch of thugs and criminals that humiliated each other by their songs. at first, most of America thought they were cool and bought their albums and CDs. (I'm mostly talking about 2pac, snoop dogg and 50 cent right now) now they are "making money just like they've found oil" and when arrested, they get out by paying money. they won't ever become poor again and can sell their products because of massive ads.

but one question remains, why they hate each other? everytime I watch a rap music video there must be someone who swears at them haters, and it frustrates me! what do they do anyway? :?

I wish you were trolling, Soroush. As far as I know, Tupac, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, N.W.A., and 50 Cent are not heroes. They're musicians, surely. Popular? Highly possible. And the term "nigger" is used hypocritically by some people in the black community, sometimes even insultingly by some who believe themselves better than another member of it, but in the long run, it's usage is for the most part frowned upon. It's also used by white trash to insult black people. When I see it used by other black people against other black people as an insult, I get the idea that it's meant to describe someone who is lazy, not working, etc. That is also the definition most white trash uses too.

In the grand scheme of this thread, I laughed, but I thought I might try to answer your questions, as silly as they are to me.

I apologized for saying Hero once, looks like the term Hero itself is valuated much higher than what I thought in America. I still don't understand why you are offended this much :?
I tried to be a little offensive there to make someone write something about 'em, It's not like I have a grudge against them or something like that. it sounds to me that none of you knows much about them either...
and thanks for explaining the word nigga. it kinda bugs me that I've never seen musicians being busted for carrying guns or having weed or even threatening to kill each other, but that's the soul of gangsta rap I think...

on Snoop Dogg: "Snoop was stopped for a traffic violation and a firearm was found by police while conducting a search of his car", "arrested for a misdemeanor of marijuana possession", "at Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, California,.., Approached by airport security for a traffic infraction, he was found in possession of marijuana and a firearm" and "He was again arrested on November 29, 2006, after performing on The Tonight Show, for possession of marijuana and a firearm"

on 2Pac: "Shakur shot one officer in the buttocks, and the other in the leg, back, or abdomen,", "In November 1993, Shakur and others were charged with sexually assaulting a woman in a hotel room"

reading these made me ask those questions at the first place.
you see, as I'm learning English, I use rap songs as a "challenge" to gain a better English accent. I say enough with it! (here we say: let's dirty our bloods no more!)
I like Manowar, Kid Rock and Hammerfall much more.
