I agree with some of that but not all of it. Just like all great countries America will eventually fall.....maybe not like the Soviet Union where it breaks apart but I see us ending up like the British.
I have been saying since I was 13 I wanted to move elsewhere may main focus is on the three countries I find most interesting Russia/China/Japan. Although I should point out it is not too late for America to make one last stand to save itself......it is just up to our leaders if we do it or not.
This all makes me sort of sad.
And did you know that in 2012, based on interpretations of the Mayan calender, that the world will end? 2011, 2012, it's all the same to me.You must live where you are happiest. But be ready when hell breaks loose next year. Japan is wobbly, to be sure, but the US will really feel the heat in 2011. Better to move to Canada where you will be safer.
The problem with moving abroad is that every other first-world nation on earth has some form of national health care and more "socialism" than the US. Instead of funding a massive war machine to go off adventuring abroad, they spend their taxes on their own people at home.
If you don't like how your taxes are spent here, you must be mad about our expensive war machine, not about Obama's health care bill. It's the military-industrial complex that's sucking up our wealth, folks.
If you move to some third-world country, you can live like a king for a while, but you'll always be looking over your shoulder for that next revolution.

The sad part is that the average North American, Japanese, or European does not even understand it or even grasp it. You know, there's such a thing as moderation.
Instead of decrying America the worst thing since Ecoli and completely divorcing yourself from Western civilization and moving to Japan (where things wont likely get much better for you) why don't you choose a reasonable middle ground?
I don't know why disillusioned US citizens seem so eager to completely switch cultures (as if a nasty case of culture shock and communication barriers wont create it's own problems) as opposed to perhaps simply trying another country that has somewhat similar language structures and cultural norms like, I dunno, France or Italy.
Hell, move to Sweden, they seem to have gotten things right.

Oh give me a break, you people. I have given you links with financial and statistical facts you choose to ignore them. Fine. But as America sinks into depression we will see who is right or wrong. I am glad to be getting out of this place and going back. In the long run we will be better off, altho with all that "land of the free, home of the brave" bullshit you all are brainwashed with from childhood, I really doubt you can tell what is real and what is not, anymore. (And I don't blame you.)
As far as moderation is concerned, I read a lot of harsh things about Japan in this forum which I don't see you objecting to. Facts are facts and speak for themselves.
