Again, japan chat does NOT work

I use japan chat to pratice my japanese. It may be not be the right place, but its useful for me to learn katakana now.

It worked on my windows 98 computer.

However, on 2 computers both, even my brand new Compaq prescario , XP, both do not work.

I've tried everything. I've put the encodings to japanese, ive changed the default language, everything. And if I try DHTML, I get an error. If I try java, when I click on "entertainment" in japanese it just reloads the page. Help!

Whenever I go to the japanese site, or any for that matter, the title is in little boxes. When I use firefox, it loads, and then it shuts off.

u mean the chat here in Jref? or a chat box on another site?

The chat here works fine. But the japanaese chat at www.yahoo.co.jp doesn't work.

It works for everyone else, just not me.

if you have windows, you could try going to 'control panel'
'date,time and language' if on xp
then add new languages and select the 'east asian languages'
That may work

I've been having that same problem and I was told by Microsoft that it's because the of the copy of XP your using isn't Genuine. It might not be 100% correct for everyone but that's what they told me.
