It is among the fiction or fable stories that its characters are animals. I sent it to a writing forum last week for critique. I hope you enjoy reading this part of the story.
Of course, I did not write the entire story.

A Bear Within the Puma Statue
(I chose this title intentionally so that you can have a better understanding of the story)

The wild cat, Gruel, had closed his eyes in front of a large statue of a wild cat with two heads in the temple and was whispering an abracadabra. He was wearing a long robe with long sleeves and a hood that covered his head. Every once in a while, he shook a bronze rattle that was in the shape of a cat's head with a handle.

The rattle broke the silence of the temple and echoed in the semi-dark environment where the only source of light was a small torch in front of the statue, casting eerie shadows on the temple walls. The dense smoke from sage plant in the stone fire pan spread throughout the temple, creating a blurry scene. He did not move his body and head at all, and only his tail moved involuntarily from left to right, instinctively.

At that time, a wild cat arrived at the temple, disturbing and interrupting the meditation of Gruel. The cat said, "Sir, the guards have reported that they saw the shadow of a black bear nearby, but he disappeared quickly. They do not know where he went. It's likely hiding somewhere close by."

Gruel opened his eyes in rage, and his fangs became visible. He raised his hand and revealed his long and sharp claws without turning his head or uttering a word. The guard understood that Gruel was angry because he had interrupted his moment of relaxation and deep connection with the grand idol, Huila. He obediently lowered his head and exited the temple slowly, making sure not to make any sound with his footsteps that would enrage Gruel further.

Gruel stopped meditating and said to the idol, "Do you see my great ancestor? Everywhere I go, I hear the name of the bears. They have become like a nightmare to me and have driven me mad. I wish to eradicate all the bears in the world, whether black or brown. I cannot tolerate them. I am thirsty for their blood. They are the lowest beings I have seen up until now."

"Manage your anger and stay calm, my son," the voice was heard from the idol!

Gruel knelt on his knees, surprised, and exclaimed loudly, "Can you speak, granddad?1"

"Why not? I heard your words and now I am speaking to you!"

Gruel laughed joyfully and said, "Who would believe that you are speaking so clearly, although I also have a nagging feeling that it's the sound of a bear?"

"Sound of a bear? Are you insane? How dare you attempt to imitate the sound of your ancestor to a bear?"

"Forgive me, Grandad. It was a delusion," Gruel said regretfully.

"Well, now that you understand I am not a bear, listen to my words carefully."

"Yes, I will listen with all my soul."

At this time, the sound of a cough was heard. Gruel's eyes widened, and he said suspiciously, "But it is the cough of a bear!"

"What did you say?"

"Oh, nothing, granddad! It is just that the damn bears have been occupying my mind day and night. Sometimes when I even look into the mirror, I see a bear instead of myself," Gruel said, blaming himself.

"Don't be strict about life, my son. Happiness is better than sadness, and peace is better than hostility. Bears have nothing to do with you, wild cats. They have their own life and land. Enmity is not a wise feeling. You should not believe they are low creatures with lower intellect and ability. Instead of stretching your leg out from your carpet, you should reach out your hand of friendship towards them."

"No, my ancestor! I heard from my father, and he heard from his father, that you were wilder than all the cats of your time. Now, you are talking differently that is not accordance with the exampled wildness," said Gruel, unsatisfied.

"At that time, I was a foolish and inexperienced young cat. I often fought with the bears, but now I admit that it was I who did something stupid, and they were blameless. I was covetous of their territory and desired to rule over them because I believed that the pack of wild cats was mightier than the bears and that we deserved to dominate them. However, not all of our fights were successful, and the group of bears frequently defeated us. That is why I advise you not to confront them and instead, try to resolve problems through negotiation and good neighborly relations.

Gruel said, surprised and angry, "Unbelievable word! You were a great hero, how do you say now, those dirty bears defeated you and your warriors? It can be a shameful spot in our glorious history?"

"My son, confessing is better than telling a false story that the next generations have made up about me. I only had one head, not two. After my death, a foolish sculptor added a second head to show me as an extraordinary character. Now, I wish to remove the additional head, but I am trapped within the statue and cannot do so, especially when you are here. It would be a risky action!"

Gruel scratched his head confused and said," I don't know what you are saying! Are you sure you are well?"

"Yes, I am well and happy to share with you the truths that you have never heard before. My purpose is for you to not consider bears as enemies and to allow these adorable creatures to live comfortably without trouble from you. Bears primarily consume grass, fruit, and honey, unlike wild cats like you that hunt deer and eat meat. Therefore, what conflict can there be between you and the bears? Your territory is a paradise of honey! You do not eat honey at all, so let the poor bears come around you and benefit from the food that is not on your menu. It can strengthen the basis of friendship between you, wildcat, and those bears, more than in the past."

At that time, the guard arrived at the temple again and said to Gruel cautiously, "Sir, I am sure I am hearing the sound of a bear here. Have you noticed that?"

Gruel turned to the guard furiously and shouted, "Go away! He is my ancestor is talking to me, not a bear."

The guard backed away immediately while whispering to himself, thoughtfully "What am I hearing?! His ancestor, Huila, speaks? So, why did his voice sound like a bear? I didn't drink today, so where did this hallucination come from? I think the temple caretaker has poured cannabis into the fire pan instead of sage plant, mistakenly!

I am glad you chose the story :)

Before your gracious comment, I thought nobody liked my story except mdchachi, who donated me a like to boost my confidence.
