Ok. I have a project in school, and we have to bring a CD for it TOMORROW with a song we want to use for the project on the CD. I don't know what song to pick!!! Give me your opinions of which song to pick. (BTW: The video is only gunna use 1:30 of the song, cause the videos only going to be 1:30)

here are the choices:

"Traveling" by Utada Hikaru

"Passion" by Utada Hikaru

"This is Love" by Utada Hikaru

"Dakishimeru" by BoA

"Come" by Namie Amuro

"Sactuary" by Nami Tamaki

I NEED to download these, and I can't pick which one. So, which do you think I should pick?

Thanks!

And you just learned of this assignment TODAY, no doubt....

if it was yesterday, I did learn of this assiment TODAY. We are makeing an iMovie in school, and i had to pick a song, and we got the assignment the same day i asked... *rolls eyes* Why do you think I was rushing? I'm not a smart class in school by waiting 'til the last minute to do stuff. But anyways, I found a CD and I brought it, and I don't axctually have to pick the song yet, I just had to bring it in...so if anyone wants to vote on one of the songs, then go ahead! TY!

Mike_Cash, I want to know why you are ALWAYS critisizing me. I really want to know, but you always are. And if you're not, you're giving me information on Japanese that i said i couldn't do at the moment. You are always telling me to get a book, and I'm going to, I just can't right now. why don't you help or be nicer or something then saying what you say, cause when someone asks for help they want, IDK, help? If you don't want to help, because if people are nice enough to help they will, you should help them by giving them a good website, or telling tell or soemthing. You think they/I don't know they/I should get a book? Sorry if this comes off rude, but I think you're always coming off rude.

Your assignment was to bring in a Japanese CD? Or just to bring in a CD? If the former, then the lead time on the assignment was unreasonable. If the latter, then I would think that the time crunch was self-created.

Mike_Cash, I want to know why you are ALWAYS critisizing me. I really want to know, but you always are.

Are you sure you're not mistaking advice you'd perhaps rather not hear with criticsm?

And if you're not, you're giving me information on Japanese that i said i couldn't do at the moment.

What, for instance?

You are always telling me to get a book

And it is the best advice you'll ever get here.

and I'm going to, I just can't right now.

When you gave a list of the reasons you can't, I was nice enough to go hunt up a link showing you a way around the credit card barrier. You didn't even acknowledge it. I suppose there must have been some other barrier beyond that one.

why don't you help or be nicer or something then saying what you say, cause when someone asks for help they want, IDK, help?

When I am able to provide advice or help, I do so. I can't help it if you fail to recognize it as such.

If you don't want to help, because if people are nice enough to help they will, you should help them by giving them a good website, or telling tell or soemthing.

I'll do you the very large favor of ignoring your posts in the future; I didn't realize that my misguided attempts at helping you were causing so much stress in your life. And I don't give websites because I think the vast majority of them are either of questionable value or absolutely worthless. Too much "blind leading the blind" out there "teaching" you things that you'll end up having to "unlearn" later on.

You think they/I don't know they/I should get a book? Sorry if this comes off rude, but I think you're always coming off rude.

Never apologize for giving a frank opinion.

I'm not one of those people who feels a need to give advice leavened with a spoonful of touchy-feely. I say what I have to say clearly and concisely. It is often blunt, but you would do well to learn the difference between useful advice bluntly presented and rude criticism. The two are not the same.

I look forward to having it pointed out to me where I have explained to you Japanese that you have told me was over your head.

I was in Japan when Boa's traveling song first came out (in 02? 01?) and so when I got back home I needed to get it and listen to it like crazy.

In 2003 T.A.T.U. was being played everywhere in Tokyo and I hated hearing it but now I have had "not gonna get us" on replay for the past eleven and a half days.

I think 2004 it was Green Day's new CD which was playing everywhere,

2005 I heard a really cool track on the airplane's Japanese pop radio something something mermaid but that's about it (well that a group of two people wanted to fight me, and several days later some black guy and his half Japanese girlfriend tried to kill me in Shibuya, that was pretty loud)

2006 I don't even remember hearing anything except for the voices in my head.

It's excessive patronizing and ill-mannerism.

I'll plead guilty to a lack of manners, but I'm afraid I'll need to ask for particular examples of where I have been patronizing. And since I'm a 41 year old man speaking to a 13 year old child, let's keep in mind the origin of "patronize" while we're at it.

Does username " Castor Krieg " ring a bell, abrasiveness in your advisory posts regarding his upcoming brief stay in Nagoya annoyed him and he threw the word " patronising " at you.

You'll have to point out where any of my advice to him was abrasive, because I don't recall any of it being so. It was pertinent and useful information. I refuse to not tell people things they need to hear merely because they don't wish to hear it. Help like that is no help at all. Too much of what passes for "advice" or "help" here is actually misinformed or uninformed touchy-feely crap that people post either out of good intentions or a desire to be thought helpful. That sort of help is also no help at all.

Castor Kreig took exception to the "I-know-and-you-don't" aspect of my posts. He was correct in that there was very definitely an "I-know-and-you-don't" element present. If there were not things I knew and he didn't, then he wouldn't have needed to ask for the advice and I wouldn't have had the advice to give him. He just didn't want to hear anything that rained on the parade he had planned.

This constitutes " dictatorial behaviour ",hence it's a patronizing approach.

Go back and read the thread again. I advised him on what may happen and clearly pointed out that it was not a certainty.

How was that "dictatorial behavior"?

Should I take the more typical approach and offer advice on things about which I know nothing or advice which is based on baseless hearsay and conjecture? Or specious innuendo of the type you offered in regards to Middle-Easterners in Japan?

In recent days, I have spent quite a bit of my time providing useful advice to people here. On things about which I didn't have the facts, I went on Japan Google and hunted them up. Some which come to mind:

1. Helping the lady who wants to be a hair stylist.
2. Helping the fellow who wants to be a radiologist.
3. Helping the fellow who wants to tour Japan by motorcycle.
4. Helping the Canadian gent find info on working holidays
5. Helping find info on a laptop battery.

I can't seem to recall you putting yourself out to be of any actual use to anyone recently...or ever, for that matter. Where do you get off sitting on the sidelines and carping about the players?

It's a matter of one's interpretation.

I merely relayed his ethnic background to anyone here who could advise him of any social hurdles he has to overcome or face in Japan,I meant well in that regard.

I've recently provided some useful informations to fellow forumer " Dreamer " who is having a one-year stay in Boston, read my posts in the " Chit & Chat " sub-forum.

This is my last post in this thread,I cease to continue bickering with you.

No, it was a matter of specious innuendo. You're comfortable taking me to task for being abrasive, ill-mannered, patronizing, and dictatorial...well, belly up to the bar for nice big steaming mug of your own medicine.

It was specious innuendo.

No you didn't. Your heritage got the better of you and you couldn't resist casting aspersions on Japan by way of innuendo.

Oh my ******* gosh

Its like a bomb was set off in here. People stop trying to find the bad in others and stop trying to make yourself look higher than everyone else.

Tomii, im sure your assignment will be great no matter what you choose, but if it were me, I would choose the song called Sanctuary. 1. I don't know many of the other songs. 2. So many people love it.

That latter bit directed at me?

How closely did you read the thread? The assignment is over.

Thank you for being 1 of the...3 or 4 people who actually came here to help. The assignment is over, and we saw our videos already. Mine was pretty good. ^^ I picked "Passion"by Utada Hikaru. It fit perfectly! Thanks anyways!
