1. 日本での暮らしはどうですか？不思議なこともあるかと 思いますが、楽しんでくれると嬉しいです。

My translation: "How's life in Japan? I expect some things seem strange, but I hope you are enjoying it."

Does 楽しんでくれると嬉しいです literally mean "I will be happy if you enjoy it for me", meaning "I hope you are enjoying it" in normal English?


2. もう知っているかも知れないけれど、浮世絵は、浮世絵 という意味です。

I suppose this means "You may already know, but ...", but I can't figure out the last part.


3. The topic is 版画の技術.

この芸術に近い技術は徳川時代に一番高い水準に達した んだよ。

I understand this is saying something reached its highest level in 徳川時代, but I'm unsure about この芸術に近い技術. Could it mean "skills closely related to this art form"? I don't really see why it doesn't just say この芸術は...


4. この印刷技術ほど優れた印刷はなかったから、海外の国 の切手も印刷していたのを知っているかな？

a) I believe the first part means "There was nothing (anywhere in the world) superior to this (Japanese) printing skill". I'm not sure if the second part means "I wonder if you know (= are familiar with) the stamps and printing produced by overseas countries?" or "I wonder if you know that stamps and printing were produced by overseas countries?"

b) In either case, I do not understand the connection between the two parts – specifically why they should be joined by から.
