I understand for the same kanji we're supposed to say いえ to refer to the physical building of a house or a home,うち a household or a family. Kanji is usually used only for the former meaning and read as いえ.
However I've come across quite a few instances in a textbook that 家 read as うち to mean the latter. What is the standard or the most popular saying?
By the way, how should I read the 家 below?
家へ帰ってから、宿題をしました。
